[PoE 3.25] The 3 Chaos Build - Essence Drain of Desperation Trap - 1.1 Million DPS 5 Link Gaming

With the 3.25 Patchnotes out all Chaos DoT Spells recieved a small damage boost. However, builds that utilized Divine Blessing as an Aura have been nerfed as the Skillgem is deleted and only available on March of the Legion Boots now. Build is still good. EDIT: PoB Updated with the 3.25 changes and the build without Divine Blessing loses about 3-5% DPS. HOWEVER, with the addition of Dark Marionettes we could potentially use Raise Spectre, Guardians Blessing and Zealotry for 20% MORE DPS. All in all it is a DPS INCREASE.

I don't if I'm missing something but the PoB in the description is still for 3.24 and has Divine Blessing.

Skill should read you take (some form / element of damage so you can mitigate) equal to 0.3 % of debuff damage. Maybe someone just forgot to add that since they were in a hurry to release all those gems.

I tried this on a deadeye but without contagion and using the chains and stuff. Had decent clear. Single target was trash tho. Topped out in high yellow/low red with the gear I was willing to invest in😊

Dude, that sounds fun and tortuous. Im super curious to see that play out. It seems super hard to scale since Deadeye doesnt have any scaling options for Essence Drain.

@PartTimeExile that was the problem I had. Very hard to scale even with gem levels etc. I have a +2 aoe +2 duration incandescent heart now tho so maybe it would be viable. What I was trying to do was balance the clear with the insane single target. Maybe someone better at rhe game than me could figure it out.

@PartTimeExile also I took the puerce nodes so the way it worked is the traps each shot put 5 ed. It would pierce 2 mobs then chain to other ones. The clear was actually really crazy for a trap build. I think with insane graveyard gear it could have been really good. Maybe 5 to 10 mil dmg range

a heads up for traps vs. mines. I tried ranged skill traps before and found out they don't really aim, but mines DO aim with something like 60 range. So maybe this setup with a mine would perform better to hit the boss in the beginning.

Ive been playing this skill for some time now and the trap essense drain will attempt to hit the target if its set off by said target. The problem is that the Projectile is so slow that most enemies walk away before being hit if ur only throwing one trap. If your trying to hit one enemy its best to throw as many as possible or at the mosnters foot if theyre standig still. Going mines is about 40% less damage vs trap. This skill only needs to hit once and lasts for about 5 seconds. Its a lot easier the more one plays with the ED Projectile

Could you do another video on this build expanding it into the mid and late game? Was really impressed with the concept. I struggle knowing how to push builds further when going playstyles im not as familiar with.

If I did, I would be doing it in 3.25 as a league starter and going for the BIG DPS in the 25-50 Div range but yea... Im currently done with this character in 3.24. I do have 2-3 more semi-hispter league starter builds to showcase soon. I will most likely be posting it 2-3 days after the GGG Livestream. Thanks for commenting =D

You clearly didnt watch any of the footage of this video or 30 days worth of evidence on the channel. Build will potentially be stronger in 3.25

Essence drain of desperation is like 100% more damage compared to regular one. But you kind lose 1 support gem since you can't really cast yourself even in chars with crazy regen. Also wouldn't blight of contagion be just as good? Or not? I didn't try and I was looking something to play next league

I just did a quick PoB where removing the Trap and Trap and Mine Damage Support and using Infused Channeling and Level 4 Empower the damage sits at 3.23 Million for the High End PoB and in the 5 Link set up the DPS is 690K but you probably would have invest into some cast speed to keep up the stacks of Blight and you have channel so youre in risk of getting 1 pumped. The output of damage is a little bit faster with Blight but the risk of being in Melee range is too great whereas you can stand at the edge of the screen and throw traps.

What's the point of taking away additional support (most importantly scaling for ED) for traps that don't scale in any way? When you are not in any way able to take advantage of their numbers, Just invest in surv

Currently, I dont think there is a way to out mitigate the damage dealt by self-casting ED of Desperation. According to PoB Trap and Mine Damage is a 50% DPS multiplier and if ED of Desperation is 100% better than regular Essence Drain then putting it on a trap makes it roughly 50% more dps. Also, I wanted to play as a Trickster to utilize the Swift Killer node and the simplest way of sustaining Frenzy Charges was to use Traps. Investing into survivability on a low budget would be incredibly difficult with the output of damage dealt if selfcasted.
