POE oil change Hermitic Refrigeration Compressor Drain R22 to R407a Retrofit POE

Here is roof top condensing unit that I converted to R407a and put drain tube on copeland compressor to make easy oil change, Beats pulling compressor out 2 times. Someone had put R404a in a R22 system. went i got to it comp was shorted to ground heemmm...??

is that the only way to change the oil?

most tech's unsolder remove compressor and poor out suction line then reinstall pull vacuum and suck in new poe oil.

@@mjwdrones4all41 ok, also I got a random question. So my sisters ac was not working for her so I went up and cleaned up the condenser an that seemed to help but wasn't quit to my liking so I took the panel off the Acoil and what looked like an massive dust mess turned out to be a cloth like fabric on top of the fins, after I removed that it really improved the performance. Have you ever seen this and what would be the purpose of doing that?

@@drken36 Most likely the filter fell apart years ago .... but not sure

Would you consider using R-421A? It works with mineral oil so you don’t have to change compressor oil in an R-22 system
