Thanks for doing this series (despite the Ultimatum pain)! I've been using the Breach strat you used and it's so clean; hopefully these stay relevant for future leagues. I think GGG saw Ultimatum engagement from last league and thought we enjoy it (in reality, Ultimatum was easy money thanks to challenges last league). Someone needs to make an Ultimatum bingo for them.

That's not a problem at all. If you don't care about what build you are playing you can make a build that never fails any ultimatum for 1-3 divs but I'm a glass cannon enjoyer and from a certain level of clear you just don't die and I don't even use any defensive auras like Grace. Sure when I find something expensive I go out but otherwise I can complete like 98% ultimatums as a 10-20 div glass cannon

1. Quant scales stack sizes according to some reddit posts and FuzzyDuckzy video 2. Getting upper cluster on the atlas tree for boss spawn rate is useless IMO because the proc rate is still extremely low and its not worth it. Because drop prices are pretty low cus scarab for 100% boss spawn is a thing 3. You absolutely cant run inscribed ultimatums if you dying on the normal encounter without 50% less damage keystone. Especially inscribed ultimatums with cirles ones 4. You cant sell inscribed ultimatums because there is no a normal way to sell them (im playing HC and not sure about that on SC. I guess you can but some GG ones) 5. If you have GIGA DPS and you dying with 50% less damage keystone you can get the 50% more life/25 less damage keystone in atlas. There is no way you will die with this combo if you have atleast 4k life 6. You need to actually clear encounter properly and not running in circle shooting only in front of you to survive on proj build without nimis. Shooting at monsters is mandatory but will hurt your wrist. So AOE build is a perfect choice for this type of strategy 7. I saw SC AFK builds for ultimatum strategy on YT, you can check that

I ran ultimatum and you can sell some inscribed with good card/unique (sold a few) but for the low one (10/20 Chaos or similar), i think it's do them or roll them 5/1. Those with monster life 120% or 200% are T1-T0 tier and can give insane reward.

Without 'Prove yourself worthy' it's not really worth it. The 25% chance of doubling rewards is mandatory to get any good results from ultimatum. Typical softcore glass cannon builds are not good for it so it wouldn't be ideal strat to start with on most builds, but with proper defensive layers it can be quite profitable, also Headhunter is op for it so if you want to focus on ultimatum i highly recommend investing into it (its dirt cheap nowadays).

Idk how hes having a hard time on a multi mirror build.. Last league i cleared 300+ ultimatums in juiced t16s on my 10 div league starter before swapping to MF. Knowing which mods to pick every round helps tho. For example ruin does nothing, level 4 miasma/blades do nothing, etc.

There is actually a viable strat you can run to make insane currency doing Ultimatum - the idea is to use scarabs to make all of the rewards change to Inscribed Ultimatum. Run T16 white maps without any mods - beat the ultimatum as fast as possible and check your inscribed rewards for divines. If you don't have any, sell 5 to a vendor to reroll it and check again. Saw someone explain his strat to Ziz and he had made 300+ div profit

Tainted catalysts alone pay for scarabs, was doing ultimatum 2 weeks ago. You want to roll maps because quant increases catalysts. Boss nodes on atlas tree are worth it for full stack of catalysts in the end. Scarab for all catalysts is not worth it. If you have low dps just go for survive+stone circles, with their increased radius u just run in circles and win. Use 2 scarabs for increased round count and 1 for guaranteed boss. I corrupted multiple helmets from boss into 5+ divine uniques, got few shields and 190% crit quality very good rolled ring which I sold for 2d. No hateforge tho

seems kinda weird to run them without the catalyst scarab, had the same thought about breach, not sure if u are gonna do the juiced scarab runs later? i dont think there's much point doing breaches without either +rares scarab or chayula scarab if you want good div/per . i think its the same here, i'd probably run catalysts instead of inscribeds or maybe both and see how it goes.

unfortunately scour & go isn't the best way to run Ultimatum anymore, i've made at least 15 div/h by blasting through maps fast with Scarab of Catalysing, Inscription and 2x Bribing with 8 mod maps pushing for as much map quant as possible. As far as i've been able to tell, map quant scales catalysts, and stack size of catalysts scales the rarity of your Inscribeds (this part i'm not 100% sure on, the quant scaling catalysts I am). So pushing map modifier effect on 8 mod maps and doing max maps per/h is insane loot. My best loot so far has been a doubled Inscribed for 5x The Immortal which sold for 36 divines each a few days ago. 8x Divine, 4x Divine, and 1x Divine are very common inscribeds with this strat. Highly recommend you run it back this way!

My 2nd atlas strat was inscibed ulti farming when I had a strong enough char, it combined with the trialmaster fight drops made me like a 100+ divs before I switched to simulacrum farming.I would say its pretty decent but you need a pretty strong char for it and enough money to buy the expensive scarabs (trialmaster and the catalysing scarab). With those you get 2-4-8 div inscibed ultis pretty regularly like every 2-4 maps

Early not at all: examples -i got multiple times double unnatural instinct, stormshroud, diallas etc etc that were worth a lot -problem with catalysts is that u want to run quant on maps so u cant run white maps (not alch t16 ofc) -i run idk maybe 100+ ultimatums this league and i got pog drop only once (mageblood map) -this state of the league ur profits are only divine maps, fortunate maps, and big uniques/cards maps that are rare + divine ratio is very low so 10 good catalysts = divine.

@@TL-fe9si Yes and no. For example The Fortunate 6/12 sacrifice is the worst tier with no "monster have #% more life". Also there are pretty bad 200% more life ultimatums as well (they are always worth something, so even tho the reward is bad u gonna sell it for couple divs). AS i farmed a lot of currency only on inscribed ultimatums there is what ive done -drop or insta sell all 0 more monsters life ultimatums because there is only 1 good outcome(The Fortunate) -all 200,120,70 % ultimatums keep in inventory and every time u get 5 bad ones of the same rarity just sell them - 30% its up to u, if u have ultimatum stash just fill whole stash and then sell them in bulk to vendor.

With soul eater I end up standing and holding right click living off the 10% instaleech mastery. Ofc I haven't gotten an apothecary. the only bad thing about ultimatum is that there's some expensive scarabs so it wouldn't be optimal to block the mechanic (and thus the scarab drops) but hopefully this vid helps to tank the prices so I can banish this stupid thing out of Wraeclast

The best strat I found with ultimatum, is to just run yellow maps with ulty and super low investment. Sure you don't get the boss or any high ilvl items but you have a much higher chance of not dying and getting plenty of raw currency.

Hear me out: You already use a few nodes for player power so what if you utilized that to also run the scarab node that makes Map bosses drop a scarab (sometimes)? For further synergy you could spec into Destructive Play to get even more scarabs and also use the Guardian Map nodes. Now you probably have to drop some nodes and IMO dropping Niko isn't the play because he is part of what made me wanna start going into destructive play (same for shrines). Scarab also feel kinda bad so for me the Ultimatum-wheels have to go. Instead ,to go with the running to the boss theme, I would spec into the bottom delirium wheel and block everything else to achieve like 90% chance for a mirror. With all of those tweaks Ultimatum is really fun and the Mobs also drop loot a lot more often And you don't loose 3 div when you die. Let me hear what you think about these tweaks, maybe you can redo the strat with those bc I don't think you're doing Ultimatum justice with this video.

Hey Empy, love your strat series. Unfortunately there are some issues with the way you approached Ultimatum. First of all, the Inscribed Ultimatum scarab is bait. Catalysts are way more valuable because a) you don't have to run an additional encounter to get the actual reward and b) you don't need to hit a jackpot on the Inscribed reward. This is reflected in the prices of the Inscribed and Catalyst scarab. Next, you specced out of the Prove Yourself Worthy atlas notable to make the Ultimatums easier. But that means you also miss out on the 25% chance to duplicate rewards, so essentially you missed out on 20% of all loot. Also, you should have put as much quant on your maps as possible instead of running them scoured. Catalysts (which you'll get tons of) are known to scale with map quant. I excessively farmed Ultimatum last league on a Storm Brand Inquisitor, and from my experience Ultimatum has a steep learning curve. You need to get a good feeling for which/how many mods your character can handle, and get the risk-reward-balance right. I wouldn't expect anyone to "just run 50 Ultimatums" and have optimal outcomes. It's also very useful to deal your damage without having to stop moving (e.g. brands, totems, wardloop, etc) so you have more time to navigate around ground effects and keep monsters from hitting you with ruin. Overall I think Ultimatum is very fun if you're experienced in it and have a character tailored to it. It makes it very niche, but if you can run it near-optimal it's BIG money.

Been farming Ultimatum religiously since they added it back to the core game. Rolled Explosive Shrapnel Trickster and DD Elementalist this league and last league respectively just to farm these with ease. Ultimatum is a lot like Ritual in regards of going for jackpot items via good corruptions or cards. Catalysts are great money if you sell in bulk. Harvest swapping is something you can do for more profit but you are at the mercy of RNG. It's still sad that Ultimatum monsters don't drop loot like they used to back during Ultimatum League. Personally, love it and will probably always have a tree for Ultimatum + Beyond from now on.

hey empy, i'm enjoying the series a lot and excited to see more, but why the heck did you test this with inscribed ultimatums, unless your goal was to prove they sucked (because they do), in which case why didn't you explicitly mention that? in my opinion, the scarab that replaces catalysts is a decoy product made so other scarabs look better, because catalysts are a significantly fungible token while inscribed ultimatums are about as valuable for trading as 500-page non-fiction books. ultimatums are supposed to be a higher-tier strategy due to their difficulty and it would have been more realistic to point this out and use the pro-catalyst scarab instead.

At 9:17 you desynced from the server. Client thinks you got hit by something while server thinks you did not. At that state if you get hit by monster, you'll "revive". It is interesting that /OOS did not help.

I can recommend ultimatum for very tanky characters, you just run stone statues and survive on something like RF and just run around. If you got chieftain explode you can do kill well too.

Even though we got jackpot with this Apothecary card, people still recommend to not take anything but Currency notable (Worthy of the present). Basically, outcome could be better if not using Div&Unique ones. Saw one guy making like 15d/h, considering that he gonna run those In-ultimatums yourself? (He didn't show exactly ho much raw currency he got so i assumed) Even with his 75% multi of the value its 15d, sooo, if he just put all 100% of value that would be 20d/h - which is fair.

Ulti is really fun if you're build can handle it. I really don't like the new scarabs, being able to target farm the boss, catalysts or inscribes makes those things devalued, so doing this strat normally sees much less loot, only getting carried by big drops. I'd much prefer to see a scarab that removes all ultimatum rewards and instead allows rare monsters in an ultimatum to drop items.

catalyzing is the way to go, especially in group play surprisingly enough. With giga map quant (affects catalyst count) you can walk away from a map with hundreds and hundreds of catalysts.

Also to note monster life value on inscribed ultimatums denotes its reward tier. So you 5-1 vendor five of the same monster life tier ultimatums to get a new one of that same tier. T0 = 200%, t1 = 120%, t2 = 70%, t3 = 30% more monster life. Examples, "Sacrifice 8 divines to double currency" is always 120% more monster life, "sacrifice a unique item to get a headhunter" is always 200% more monster life. So you would vendor 5-1, five 120% bad reward ultimatums and maybe you will get the double 8 divines ultiumatum or something equivalent in the t1 reward pool. Or vendor 5-1, five 200% life bad reward ultimatums and hope you get a gg t0 reward like headhunter.

In similar line to window shopping mechanic, a ton of trash with some giga profit outliers. Just depends on what you like to do. I farmed Ulti back in Affliction, and I HATED it. It was super unrewarding, and although I specced into it, over about 60 ultimatums over the league, I got 2 divs as the only good reward. No good cards, no boss. I got sick of it and switched to essences and Alva. Seriously, farming Alva for temples seems more profitable than half the league mechanics we got.

Ultimatum feels bad because the jackpot items could be cool but monsters not dropping ANY loot sucks. Meanwhile ritual is kind of the same gameplay wise but often less deadly and if u fail you still get to get something AND the monsters still drop out loot at the end (near the altar so its easier to pickup).

I duped so many rewards already, Divs, inscribed, uniques with decent corruptions, everyone should take this node. and afaik the map quant effects the catalyst drops. so the conversion strat should provide very different results. with the inscribed vendor recipe even more.

run about 100 of these in affliction and all inscribed ultimatums and rewards were complete garbage. I only got good currency from it because selling trialmaster carries was 50d profit

Missing out on catas was a huge mistake. A huge portion of your profit comes from these but you couldn't get it 'cause of your scarab. But yeah ultimatum isnt that fun anymore. Seeing a yellow map or 6 bindings in round 9 or 10 feels miserable

You do need quantity on maps and dupe. This strat was so much better when inscribed were 100c last league. Block and evasion builds are also really good because you can block and evade ruin stacks

Incorrect, u cant block ruin stacks. Yes u can evade, unless its stalking ruin IV.

@@m3zuss whirlly ruin blades get blocked and you can block the ghost's projectiles and wont get ruin either. as long as it isnt glancing blows. If you get hit with no damage its like you arent getting hit in the games eyes so ruin stacks dont apply.

Just get lucky. 50 map sample size is small for lots of divine drops :D I didn't get lucky with incubators.

@@Empyriangaming im confused then. at 14:22 for example, you counted the raw currency you found. then at 18:30 you refresh the page, it shows you 1920c, but in the listing it again shows the 5 divs you found. ive never used that page so i dont know if im reading it wrong, but to me it seems like its counting those divines, chaos, ex etc again, even though you already counted them in your previous calculation

Ulti was my favorite mechanic they had, until you got it nerfed lol. Still loved that league though. So easy to get into compared to Necrop or Harvest
