My name is Melissa cobb.!! I love watching your channel. I have learned so much as my 12 year old son Travis has as well. He is very much into the Hobbie.!! As of now he has 5 trantula. 2 curly hair, Arizona blonde, pumpkin patch, a brazilian red and white. He so badly wants a vercicolor. I'm sorry I spelled miss correctly. Money is a little tight but hopefully I can get him one for Christmas . I have learned so much myself and really enjoy having these trantula and just watching the growth and how they change with every molt. Some grateful to have a channel like yours that educates and teaches us newbies how to raise healthy beautiful spider's. Thank you so much.!!!!!!!

Hello Dave and Camera Lady. What a lovely success! Cute little wigglers. You know Dave, with people, as our eggs get older, they have a lot less viability as well. Granted we don’t make any new eggs so by the time the are old they are really old. With that in mind I think you have a solid theory there. 😊 I am so happy for your success with this one. I love it when y’all are pleased. Your joy shines through. So, congratulations again to you both and to Mum. She needs some TLC in the form of a good meal I think. The husband and I have not been well so I am off to sleep. Thank you for the wonderful video. Have a great week!❤🤠💛

We *ALL* get sick - I’d give birth to a Panda through an eye socket before going through 3 weeks with a chest drain in again. Nuff bout my woes lol, old soldier, whinge whinge whinge…….. ❤

Oh this was such a nice sac! For being under weight the mother still looked so beautiful. I think all her weight went to those chubby little buggers. Those babies are so big. I can't wait till they molt out to real fuzzy mini Ts. Love how you figured out a possible reason for the recent, not so good, sacs. I know certain animals will not reproduce unless the temps are at a specific range, so it totally makes sense that it might play a role here in the Beastie Room as well. I was nervous after the last 2 sacs, but I am so happy this one was a success. Congrats to you and Camera Lady!!! Thanks for sharing your world and knowledge with us! 👶🏼🕷❤️

Woo hoo ! That's much better than the last one. As you said, perhaps higher temperatures do play a role in getting females to produce a sac quicker, therefore resulting in a much healthier clutch in the end. Sweet ! Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)

Always a pleasure to someone doing something they truly love and doing it well. I would imagine the next step is to take one or more females you are sure have not yet produced any egg sacs, and put them up on the top shelf, that way you might quickly determine if the youth of the female or the temperature, post-pairing, is the culprit.

Dave thank you so very much for your knowledge and everything that you do my husband and I are taking notes and comparing from when you 1st started to now. And we've just started getting into the tarantula collecting and it's now an obsession for an addiction. I absolutely love them but I'm also learning more about the others true spiders that you carry and your scorpions personally. I'm not into scorpions or centipedes but I do really like the true spiders and then of course all of the tarantulas. And because of the way you handle and I mean handle as in transferring your species from one Enclosure T o another enclosure Safely and you don't bother the spider. It doesn't go crazy or you know it's? The. Relatively relaxed creatures and you know I understand there's that odd ball one that just decides. It's gonna crawl all over you like that 1 little spider. Are you even over your head and down your shirt and everything else? But now my husband and I have more Confidence in trying the old world spiders that are a little bit faster and a little bit naughtier. Maybe and then we do we want to go into the Metallica's and the pokey's? And some of those other older world species that we find interesting so thank you again so very much for what you do and i've been binging you For the last couple of weeks and we watch at least A couple of videos right when we go to bed so again thank you so much you make a world of difference

Great to see a full egg sac for you. Is there a big dry and wet season change where these come from? Many animals base their breeding and lifecycles on seasonal changes (light, temp, rain/dry). Might be a trigger in getting them to make an egg sac.

So this one (younger) had 73 out of 75 eggs. She had a slightly warmer Temp and a lot more dirt between her sack and the weed barrier. The older female had over 50+ out of over 100 eggs. She had slightly cooler Temp and has her egg sack right on top of the weed barrier. I still think that the older female needs a deeper dirt enclosure. Maybe because she's bigger, maybe because she likes to dig down. I think these Metallicas may just be a case by case. They may require a bit of individual customized care. We've seen how different two siblings can be.

Wow, that was such a lovely egg sac, lots of little pokeys , how long does it take for a nymph to go from tiny to big and beautiful? My eldest son is not good with spiders, he asked me to show him one of the Pokeys and his face turned white. He is going to join the diplomatic service, he could end up in a country with tarantulas but he will refuse a country that has Pokeys, he is a true hero, running onto his bed when small spiders wanders into his bedroom screaming spider spider, my younger son has to grab a glass and rescue the poor tiny spider!

The best cure for arachnophobia is to get him to watch these videos…seriously…it works! Not all spider channels work so well, they can be a bit sensationalist, but Dave is brilliant, so calm and his tarantulas are too. I doubt you’d see a pokie in the wild unless you were looking very hard 😄

So cute 😍 nothing better than starting your day seeing ewl 😊. I had a thought about the difference in sacks maybe it could be to do with the bigger viv ? The 30x45 seemed to be very dry everything had died but the plant in the smaller viv was still alive maybe the humidity played a part ? I had read that pokies like humidity to drop a sack so maybe as the enclosure dried out so did the sack. Just a thought n not a breeder at all so no idea if it would make that much difference or not, but great vid as always and grats on the ewl , Dave, Camera Lady 😊

For breeding have you thought of using a large, upright breeding tank, just for the Metallica's and cohabitating then for 2 or more days. It should have enough room and hides they can separate from each other. Also maybe think breeding them every other year and have at least 1 pair breeding a year. Some potential ideas. Good luck!

Oof, I feel the same. This definitely helps me manage my phobia. I‘ve thought of getting one myself. On the one hand it would be quite the accomplishment if I can pull it off. On the other hand BIG EFFING SPIDER IN MY HOUSE! Opening the enclosure for feeding would be nerve wracking, and I don‘t know if I could ever manage cleaning. 😅 I tried keeping a spider I caught in our cellar, the black ones sitting in the corner. It stopped eating after a few weeks, and I‘m not sure why. I probably did something wrong, wrong place or something. On the other hand, these corner spiders have a short life expectancy overall, so maybe it wasn’t entirely my fault. But imagine spending 30 bucks or so on a fancy spider, only to have the same thing happen… that‘s another reason I‘m torn.
