I wonder how he learned about the Gaspésie, in Québec, because the road around the peninsula was only completed in the 1920s and the first railroad connection had only been made in 1911. In any case, in a style that can only be characterized as his own, Bloch captured a lot in this short work: the coastal landscape, some local culture ("chanty"), and the seascape. Percé: a place with a cold sea and warm people!
