amazing work that i am still in awe of. Our talented music teacher back in my school days taught us the song versions of some of the poems for a musical. it was phenomenal, i am so blessed to have been a part of that cast. the hexagon theatre was sold out for all the nights we performed. such great memories. I still remember the lyrics . what a joy

Very cool stuff, I've always been a big fan of William Blake. I've been doing a lot of readings of his poetry myself recently after finding a really nice book with not only his complete poetry but also that of John Donne.

Its good to hear a little more diversity - a male voice, but I believe most native speakers of English here, especially Literature academic readers, would be more able to reveal the several levels of Mr Blake, especially his musicality and wit... check out most classically-trained Brit actors as well...still in a league by themselves... I appreciate the efforts of the readers here, but I hope for more pros to do proper service to the great works here...

For all the naysayers, please visit librivox.org/ and record your own version of a 50 min piece of work. I can assure you that it will take you weeks if not months to complete. But, please get this person to erase this from KZbin, and replace it with your version, tout suite. Sarcasm is a lost art. Just to save those not in the know the trouble. Sarcasm is "a sharp, bitter, or cutting expression or remark; a bitter gibe or taunt". Sarcasm may employ ambivalence, although sarcasm is not necessarily ironic. Most noticeable in spoken word, sarcasm is mainly distinguished by the inflection with which it is spoken and is largely context-dependent.

Oh shit - not another LibriVox opus! Along with others I salute their motives but am repelled by their readers who may well be enthusiastic but have no idea how to read verse or text. The one ok performance (though initially I had dismissed it as lack lustre - perhaps my expectations are not so great now) is Joyce's Dubliners - read by an Irishman with some vitality. Wm Blake was a Londoner and if not technically a Cockney would sound interesting if read by one. The bizarre, crude and wholly inappropriate stressing of words is in this recording frankly bloody awful. If such intonation came from the lips of a five or six year old it would be charming. But from the mouth of an adult - the thought crosses my mind that the Death Sentence should be reintroduced for such an abomination.
