John was so shy and so down to earth putting every else before his self. Im grateful I got to see him several times and had an amazing conversation along with dinner on the Pacific Trail. and in Aspen as well in LA when he played. at the Greek Theater back in early 80s. RIP John Denver. One love

Wow, if there's anything you would be able, willing to divulge about your conversation with him, I would absolutely be grateful, and love to hear it. Few celebrities were as intriguing as John Denver to me. Men are typically not real complicated, this guy was, or at least seemed to be. Absolutely loved him. It's one thing to hear an interview with a celebrity, when they typically are just saying what they want people to hear to maintain their image, all together different to have a private conversation.

Back in 69, he came to my college as part of a voter’s registration program. Country roads had just become a big hit. He was so kind. He came and talked to all of us. I still have his LPs but I no longer have a record player.

@@daryllebeau4333 I don't see what that has to do with anything. He was still a better songwriter than most people today. Many national poets were also "potheads" (including W. B. Yeats and Walt Whitman) and they symbolize the spirits of entire nations... 🤷♀

John Denver changed my life. I cannot say that about anyone else. One day I was this Deep South country boy without a plan, then I heard Rocky Mountain High. I headed for Colorado as fast as I could. I eventually settled down, went back to university - first CSU in Fort Collins and then on to graduate at CU in Boulder. Work took me away from Colorado. That was how it had to be. But John Denver and his music pointed a young guy with no direction in at least that direction and "I have to say it now , It's been a good life all in all, it's really fine to have (had) a chance to hang around." My wife and I are about to retire and "hang around" a bit more in my second, spiritual home - not too far from Aspen. Thanks John.

No other musician has ever connected to me like John Denver. He just connects! Love this guy. If ever there was a musician I would have loved to meet, Yes, John Denver. He cuts deep into the soul but being famous took its toll. ya can't get fame and tranquility and a strong marriage. Just can't. God designed it so 2 people would be together most of their waking hours. But I lve his music and meaning and always have. People who leave a mark upon you in life are the ones you know are the real deal. People who live close to your heart and touch you like John has done must be the true parts of life. Some live in the outer circle of my heart and some live in the inner circle. John has always lived in my inner circle. What can I say, he just clicks with me. Love to have met him.

This song always makes me think of my older brother who died way too young at age 37 from alcoholism, and always shreds me because of it. It sings of appreciating the simple things in life, which he did. It talks of future plans, which he never got. We all just kept waiting and hoping for him to pull out of his alcoholic mess, to finally get on with realizing the unbelievable potential his life had, the incredible talent God blessed him with, but it wasn't to be.

He sacrificed his family to help encourage the world 🌎...he missed out on the daily life of his own family & simple pleasures he truely loved soo much. ❤ I just think 🤔 people like him should do recordings close to home on their own time. Still their gifts 🎁 can reach the 🌎. They can Do local things & people go to them & only do TV specials that their own family go to. So Family remains first ! ❤ I never went to a concert of his & never needed to > and he effected my life for the good just the same. All I needed were Records / Dvds/ cds. TV special 1x yrly. ❤ to his kids & other family.
