It is still hard to find communities for young onset. My daughter ( who is married with 2 young kids) was diagnosed at age 32. I was the caregiver for my mom who also had Parkinson and passed 2 weeks after my daughters was diagnosed. Also my moms sister had Parkinson. I say all this to say, community support here in NJ/NY are non existent. I can relate to your speaker and his experiences...In many ways Parkinson patients suffer an invisible illness.... I am glad I found this site. I am on my own helping those I meet know they are not alone....and that there is hope a quality life...even as it is different and difficult....

The Davis Phinney Foundation is an incredibly helpful, supportive resource! I urge you to be in touch with them. There are more and more opportunities for on-line support groups today than before the Pandemic, too. You're not alone! Glad you made a connection here!!!
