One of my favorite songs from them. it is quite amazing and indeed, that chorus is chill inducing. The Alexander version even more so! I am really torn between these two, because I love the rhythm and beat in this one, but the acoustic version is so touching and soulful it is just amazing. Also, I don't know why, but when I hear the first two lines of the chorus, it makes me think of my childhood anime, Sailor Moon, the series from 1990 and her transformation with the wings. 😅

I've never listened this album version, so thanks for introducing it to me. It is amazing. I highly recommend you react to three versions of Lift; official video, live from the Moscow concert in 2013 with that amazing ending and the stripped down version from the Alexander theater sessions with just that amazing voice and a piano.

This song didn't stand out to me from the album in comparison with all of their other catalogue. But when they did the Alexander Theatre version, I came to regard it much more highly. To me, the lyrics really lend themselves better to the Theatre version and so that is the one I go to. Children of the Sun on the Alexander Theatre Sessions is also my go-to for that song, though it is very similar to the studio album version.
