Thats been on my radar Corvis for a while. A challenge for my no Co2 240 gallon. I have a Crypt that looked much like the one next to the P.helferi...then I added some fertilizer to the water and the plants leaf changed color and the orange stripe was gone!..it all became nearly black..not rot or dead..just the color is near black. Always something new. 5 decades of this for me now.

Such an eye catching plant! Reminds me of something from the Avatar movie. I love the Vesuvius sword also for leaf interest. Thanks Joel for the species spotlight!😁💕👍🌱

I love this plant. I have never thought of using it as a foreground plant. I'm a root tabs queen, so maybe I can have some good luck with it.

I'm starting to dig mine. They really take off once they acclimate to your system. Good susbtrates, good light, and ecosystem... They really grow fast. I'm getting some red crowns soon. Hopefully they grow as fast.

Oh - see I was too scared to put them too deep in the substrate... but yours seem to be doing really well that way.

Nice man! Glad to see your plants took off. I love seeing updates on plants I send out. You'll find they grow thicker denser leaves and will be less etiolated with more light.

Late on here but I would like to share, I had P Helferi in tissue culture and found the secret is to plant the whole bunch and leave it to establish a few weeks. Only then is it safe to split into smaller plants and guarantee no melt. Great plant.

Pogostemon Helferi was one of my favorite plants. I used it as a mid-foreground plant behind a row of S-Repens, which was then behind a row of Riccia moss carpet creating a nice stair step effect in my foreground scape. It's such a unique, vibrant, delicate plant full of texture and adds alot of dimension to an aquascape. I've had some unfortunate circumstances happen in my life which caused me to get out of the aquarium hobby for quite some time now, and probably wont be able to get back into it for a little while longer, but I definetly miss it and will get back on the train eventually. Thanks for the vid.

I really want to get my hands on this plant. A local hobbyist was selling a bunch on craigslist for super cheap. I wanted to buy a bunch of it from them, unfortunately they never responded to my emails.

Timely video for me - thank you! I just got in a tissue culture of this two weeks ago. Out of 6 stems I have one, maybe two that look like they might make it. Hopefully I can find it potted or from another hobbyist soon because it looks like an awesome plant.

I have this plant in my small tank and yeah I agree that it takes it's time. But I just got fluorite and pea gravel mixed in, a current USA light, no CO2. I started with 3 and now I have 5 so I'm slowly propagating them.

Very very cool looking plant 🤓

My suggestion Corvis? Remove Co2 from the 150...compare how this and other plants do vs siblings in the Co2 tanks do.. Try that for awhile, just to see how it goes.

Love the plant got some from a local guy put in my Pea Puffer tank and just couldn’t get it going will try again some time.

If you want to grow it a bit taller coul you use less intense light like medium low light? Also you recommend co2 could it be done without co2?

Joel, either I am missing something or the stainless scissors are not in your store. I found them on Amazon and my kids are getting for for my B-Day, but I don't find them in your store.

Your timing is impeccable! This has always been on my wishlist of plants to own. I just recently inquired about getting some but was unsuccessful. I don't have Facebook, do you know of another way I could get in touch with Joe?

Great video! If you don't mind, could you just speak a bit about the care conditions of the rotala ramosior in the last video? I'm getting some and would really appreciate it. Thanks!

If you ever have some to sell I'd like a couple (few). I'm kind of local to you and can meet to pick up (once this covid leaves town).
