Did you give it back? A bunch of us on a piano forum are wondering how modeling software like Pianoteq sounds when played back on a TransAcoustic.
@edwinov2 жыл бұрын
"So you still have to tune it"... ONLY for the acoustic sound I would imagine, NOT the digital sound. Which also does bring me to the following question: what if I tune my piano differently (eg equal tempered), is there a way to tell the digital part to also fallow that tuning?

I would like to enhance your review with important elements and objectivity. 1) The touch of a $2,500 digital piano is better than these pianos. A Yamaha CLP digital piano can reproduce exactly the same repetition rate and key depth of a grand piano, the Transacoustic action/touch has the same downsides of all upright pianos. 2) The action of these pianos has more limitations than a regular upright as the mechanism's regulation is compromised to accommodate the hammer traveling a shorter distance when the mute rail is engaged; which also changes the normal key depth. The touch is the most important factor for the piano-student as well as for the experienced piano player, personally, I would not recommend to compromise the touch (respectfully) this is an "expensive gimmick" 3) Electronics and acoustic pianos are always a bad combination. The acoustic piano will last 30-40 years the electronics would not last for that long and they will be obsolete in 3-5 years. It will hurt the resale value of the piano, which typically is very good without the electronics. 4) The price is NOT $16K... the average market price in southern and north California is about... $9,800 plus tax. 5) If you need to practice with headphones, record or play with different sounds, it is better to have a digital piano and separately purchase a regular piano; the acoustic piano will last a long time and you can replace the digital-piano once turned obsolete or stopped working. All for less than $9,000. 00 for both. (I hope you allow the public to read this perspective as this is a big purchase for most families)

San Mateo Piano thanks for sharing your advices.my Yamaha digital Yamaha piano has been played for more than 20 years. It still works now. Pls Don’t worry about the digital part . Clp series can be a good choice too!
@MusixPro4u4 жыл бұрын
@@paulinechen8468 My CLP stops working now after 5 years. Some keys are randomly being played at maximum volume, regardless of how hard I press the key. This is very disturbing and practically makes the piano useless.

The problem with your 20 years old yamaha is that is sound shit compared to new digital piano, I think that is what he s addressing with "obsolete"
@Hallenyoyo3 жыл бұрын
@@michelepiserchia1403 well but that is not realy the case anymore with newer digital pianos. I have a 10 year old one and it sounds even better then the new one my cousin bought since I have "bigger" speakers. Nowadays digital pianos are so good that buying a new one doesn't give you that much of an improvment anymore.

have you heard it in person? the digital piano is resonating the actual soundboard, so in that sense it is acoustic and not digital. I bet you would never know the strings were disengaged if you didn't have knowledge this kind of piano existed. People need to stop looking for whatever unsubstantiated criticism they can give, it's dumb.
@ismayil90475 жыл бұрын
I have and I agree that in comparison with a good Petroff upright it sounds horrible. However it takes a trained, practicing musician to understand it.
