10:03 that was actually the thing that made me figure it out originally back whenever. I was just playing around and something just clicked in my head. Great tutorial, still picked up some new stuff even though i know hyperloops already.

Glad to hear that! If you get a chance, please do visit playpoi.com/support. I'd love to do this for another year or two, and it means a lot when people take a few minutes to "poiticipate" ;)

I like my poi long, so i can't go in the middle, but I have almost come up with something where, instead of turning when you do, you let them wrap, then stall, and then you turn to the other side where they upwrap. Is that a thing you've heard of?

Do you find this is easier to learn using sock poi?
@bunnbun107 жыл бұрын
I cannot get that weave down. like it doesn't make sense to me. Any more tips and pointers?? Because I have been watching this video like religiously and cannot get it😞
@playpoivideos7 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean: Are you stuck on the weave or hyperloops? Hyperloops can be a lot of work! If you want to learn the weave, this is definitely not the right video! ;-) ... if you mean the hyperloops, my first question is: Are you really practicing each step? If so, which step are you stuck on? Often I see people kinda/sorta run through the steps, and then they get frustrated that they can't do the final move. The solution is usually to go back and put lots of time into the steps. If you make a video of where you're stuck, I will give you a video with feedback! But I'll need to see how you're doing with the steps, not just the final move.

playpoi maybe I was going a bit fast but I made sure to follow the steps through correctly. Thanks for replying

>_< it's painful to learn this with string, wish I had sock poi right now

help me save my sanity... it's NOT possible to do a right-to-left hyperloop and immediately go into a left-to-right hyperloop... right? that is, do them on both sides, repeatedly? i can do right-to-left (mostly) and i can do left-to-right (if i really concentrate), but i can not, for the life of me, do right-to-left left-to-right.
@Bloodsong13T Жыл бұрын
not that anybody cares, but what i was doing wrong was going out of the middle with the wrong poi leading. i'm much better now. :X still stuck on the second to last part. :X

edit: sorry I just found your other video on dancing kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2a6io2afLqYqdk awesome, thanks! I know this is pretty old and you may not see this, but I have an issue with moving while spinning. I see you, Drexfactor and Liz Knights all are very good dancers that make whatever technical move just a lot better, or it just seems to pop (in a good way). Problem is I can't dance at all, I'm stiff and anxious that people will see me and think I look silly, I know it's stupid but do you have any tips on how to improve my movement and actually flow with the poi rather than me standing still most of the time? I kinda move my upper body but it feels like my feet are planted in the same place. Thanks anyway for the tutorials your really amazing and passing on the knowledge is very kind :) I've learnt much from just youtube
