But you clearly support what Trudeau does simply because "our guy" did it. Basically you are accusing others of exactly what you are now doing. Political parties are not hockey teams. Exactly the same here. I've been working since I was 16. 30 now and only used E.I. once. Got laid off for 2 weeks by my boss because I had Covid so I could apply for E.I. They automatically placed me into CERB and then gave me E.I. for 1 week. I've been paying into E.I. for years and they had the audacity to tell me I have to pay back something that I didn't apply for in the first place when there are mechanisms (I pay taxes and E.I. premiums) in place for THIS specific reason. Yes I spent the CERB. I had to survive. But I would've been fine with just my regular E.I. benefits that I was entitled to. Now I'm in debt and they expect me to fork out $200 a month.

So they are trying to accuse him of being the gatekeeper himself now? They are talking about the importance of helping low income families but I don't see how they help the existing ones by creating more? That was no answer to his remark about the family with three kids seeing their (housing) mortgage go up two thousand dollars a month now how will they afford dental and food for themselves either and they won't qualify for Government assistance if they are in too high a tax bracket. So middle class is just becoming lower class now because as I've said in the eighties my parents could get a mortgage for a ten acre property with a two car garage ten room farmhouse for ten grand downpayment because it only cost a hundred grand for the whole homestead they could never do that now homeownership is just an unachievable dream now for average folks. My family was considered "poor" what we had would be considered a millionaires lifestyle by today's standards though.

So, pbottomley14, you managed to see through the Trudeau government's lies. How did you see through the lies when so many others took the words at face value and believed Canada would be just fine, that the government has our backs and will support us? Surprise, now people have a deadline to repay their CERB and CEBA (granted there will be a fight to extend the deadline), oh and the CEBA payments which didn't have to be fully repaid, now do need to be fully repaid. You and I saw through the lies and knew this was coming, but many others believed what their government told them, that they have our backs. The GST repayment of about $300 over 6 months (which no low class married couple or working family I know qualifies for) and dental care for children is really going to help us dig ourselves out of mass inflation. This is the same government that admitted they chose to keep the borders and airports open to international traveling for a month after learning of a potentially deadly virus coming out of China. Myself and 50% of my co-workers had already been sick in Jan 2020 with the worst flu we had even had along with 50% of the people at my church. 3 months later we weren't allowed to enter church as per government order. We should have locked down on January 1, 2020 when it was known that China was being ravaged by the virus. The government had our backs though and waited until every province was infected before locking down in March 2020. Justin Trudeau admitted his government chose to wait a month longer and spoke as though he was going to be awarded a badge of honour.
