Tent cities all over the city. I have lived here most of my life and I have never seen it this bad. We did not vote for a majority liberal government (and thanks to NDP that’s what we have…and the “liberal” government has introduced many very leftist policies under the guise of a centrist party. I am fortunate in that I have wealth, a home, a good job, and can weather this storm. I genuinely worry about the vast majority of people in our country who can’t. This isn’t a minor issue - it’s literally putting people on the street and risking food insecurity for millions of Canadians in the name of climate change. This is not what we signed up for and JT does NOT have the authority to run our country into poverty because of his own personal agenda. He works for the people and the people are DONE with him. That is inflation, In roman times , they would chip the coins. Now since chipping coins isn't done. Also now our money is only mentally worth something its not physically worth anything. So box and or product shrink and or the price goes up. It can also go up because of costs to make the product like the carbon tax. Ways to lower these prices would be to stop printing money perhaps even causing deflation which has its down sides for other reasons (Debters will see the value of their debt increase while savers will see their money increase in value so a government in debt or anyone borrowing money wouldn't want deflation). It can also be done by cutting taxes and other costs. Either way though companies will take their time adapting to the market conditions so either way prices would only go down slowly.

Thats just patently false. First of all 'food' is a BIG segment. Fish prices are very much variable, I can buy fish for dirt cheap at a local deli. They go up, they come down. It depends where you shop, because the large grocers most certainly corner the market and rarely bring prices down. But thats fairly typical, your WAGES are supposed to go up, but you know how that works.

If you could somehow plant enough trees to make up for our emissions globally which would be insane and impossible , but if you could you would then need to burry them in a way that prevented their decay. To remove carbon from the carbon cycle. I care about the issue because its a chemical reality, the danger to human civilization IMO is minor. Carbon tax is around 10% of the cost of fuel. Which is only one part of total costs to produce or transport goods. So how would raising one part of total costs of producing stuff by 10% = 30% increase? Carbon tax has nothing to do with your mortgage payment. That's interest and housing costs. There is a small impact on cost of goods caused by carbon tax, but its not the main driver of inflation and increased costs.

The trucker pics up the farmers products and transports it to the factories for processing... 10% increase. After that, it gets shipped again to stores.. by truck. 10% the store that sells it has to heat and light their store with a 10 percent increase. I know that it's 10% across the board but since the last carbon tax, what cost me $1 now cost me $1.47. This is the average increase across the board. I managed at a big chain store for 8 years and could tell you the prices of everything. In the past 2 years everything went up 30% or more. I'm also aware my mortgage has nothing to do with carbon tax. I was just ranting about how our government over all has made poor choices and it's made everything unaffordable

Reality check Polliever is a career politician since he turned 19. Polliever is partner in a investment company in Alberta, owns property, is originally from Alberta . Was the failed housing minister who did nothing to stop or prevent the false economy created by the housing market he was in charge of thar led to a recession and the highest inflation during a non pandemic. He has no idea what it is to actually work for a paycheck. He and all the other MPs have kept silent regarding the 5 salary increases they received and another one next month . A person who is so concerned about the Canadian tax dollars and inflation . He had to hire an image consultant and coach with a speech writer to change his persona and what peope actually think of him. As for drama teacher he must have hired a drama coach for all the theatrics and dramatic statements he makes . FYI, dumpster diving has been happening since the 80s, and food banks have been overly used even Harper was Prime Minister. And when Brian Mulroney was Prime Minister. As for Trudeau , he chose to be a teacher way before getting politics unlike Polliever. By the way, did not come from a family who was living below the poverty line that had to work 2 jobs for minimum wage a didn't do without!

Trudeau's Minister of Environment Guilbeault is the Executive Vice Chair of China's CCICED initiated Canada's carbon tax which is Trudeau's flagship climate change initiative. Why is it urgent for Trudeau Govt to increase the carbon tax on April if the carbon tax has not produced meaningful changes in carbon reductions during the last 5 years? It cannot possibly achieve our emission targets 10 years from now. Trudeau and Guilbeault's carbon tax, like Guilbeault's comment to end road-building in Canada, will continue to deter investment into Canada and to make China great again. Canada's economy will never recover as long as the Liberal Govt continues to be on staff as advisors for the Chinese Govt and use their authority to obstruct Canada's vital industries to make room for China's brand new coal burning factories that Guilbeault recently endorsed.

The trade agreement does favour China in many ways but it does not include a provision in where the Canadian Minister of Environment must serve as an Executive of the CCICED and to advise to Executive Leadership of the Chinese Govt. Canadian business entities which intersect with profits of Chinese shareholders may be held accountable to pay for losses of Chinese revenue. In this case, Conservative Peter Kent was a good Candidate for his role in the CCICED because he would recognize restrictions and update the PMO so creative business ventures could be established to create a joint venture where one hand feed the other. Guilbeault is not a good person to have in the CCICED because he has a history of non-violent but criminal activism and has demonstrated that he does not most respect shareholders of Canadian progress and the work that they do. He could stop Canadian progress by advising China re: future Canadian industrial developments. The Chinese could obstruct these plans by doing the same and the provisions in FIPA would make Canadian industries accountable to pay for Chinese losses of revenue if both Canada and China produced the same product. To date, Guilbeault did not oppose China's 125 new coal burning factories. What are they producing? A Canadian technology? Guilbeault opposes road-building and therefore he does not want firefighters to have access to remote locations to extingush fires and so on. He doesnt want firefighters to eat pizza baked in a woodburning oven and yet let 120 million acres of mature forests burn, and all of their creatures to become carbon that released 2.2 MT of ghg in the air. FIPA offers Canada an opportunity to develop in tandem with China and Canada should be doing so. Guilbeault is not doing so. He is not building Canada because he is an activist that blocks Canada. The last person on Earth that can be trusted in the CCICED.

As China manufacturing starts in 125 new coal burning factories, the enviro will suffer from gross pollution, workers will not see their families for months and will get hurt without compensation. The Canadian way is to build a better but more expensive product. Canadian companies are follow environmental regulations, WCB, OHS, EI, pensions and they pay employees fairly, offer health benefits etc etc. There are no blood diamonds nor blood oil being produced in Canada. There are 125 more coal factories in China that probably dont have an SDS nor spillkit. Imagine the harm to the environment. Guilbeault should be in Canada, mitigating forest fires and promoting environmental good practices so that international investors are merited for buying clean and green product. In Canada, a companies safety record and program makes them competitive. They dont have the lowest bid but the prove they invest in shared values and are diligent to protect the environment. Investors look at Canada and say, those guys turn European sun orange, cause heatwaves and rely on foreign workers to put out their own forest fires because they dont care about the environment. 100% disgusting that Guilbeault lets the forest burn to sell his carbon tax. Forest fires emit 3x more ghg than the Canadian economy and thats fine because it doesnt count towards our stats. His activism is so strong that he doesnt recognize that he is the one Greenpeace should be protesting for allowing mature forests to turn into carbon.
