It also irritates me how movies omit that parachutes have leg straps that you HAVE to strap otherwise the chute would rip free of your arms and back. Parachutes are not jackets. Did over 50 jumps in the Army. You cannot underestimate the ability of the opening shock or wind to rip things away.

@@keithb372 If you end the film here and then make a sequel the sequel is a standard thriller with a known cop chasing a known bad guy who knows the cop is chasing him. There is nothing "original" about that film (and there isn't much original about this film). What made this film work were the character dynamics. All those dynamics change after this and it takes a heck of a writer to make a chase film with known characters truly engaging instead of formulaic. Johnny only wants to see Bodhi go down and Bodhi couldn't give a shit about Johnny. How are you going to force Bodhi and Johnny to team up again in a way that isn't obviously dumb plot? Because the film will need them to team up again. Hobbs allowing Toretto to go free and live his life in LA was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in film. And that includes Jeff Goldblum being able to upload an improvised, self-coded virus from his 1990s laptop to a previously unknown interstellar alien ship whose language he has no prior experience with and shut down its shields.
