I was, but the lack of 5-6 players support made me sad lol At least, I have dive to look forward to? I love push your luck games and it support 5-6 players.

I'm really looking forward to this game, but with all these reviews for it coming out I'm wondering why I haven't seen it in stores yet. Did you get a review copy or am I not looking in the right places?
@TheRealSwiggy Жыл бұрын
@@jacobjslee hey, Jacob. It's a kickstarter game, so you won't see it in retail until next year. You can still "preorder it" through kickstarter though
@jacobjslee Жыл бұрын
@@TheRealSwiggy Oh, thanks! I want in. Almost everything covered in this video is a plus for me. Where I differ, though, is I do see a point to owning both editions of The Crew.

@@jacobjslee It's currently on Kickstarter here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/flatoutgames/point-city-deep-dive It's not available in stores yet, we were sent a preview copy (not paid).

Thanks, Dylann, for your comparison between PC & PS. I used to buy games on a whim and am now more selective/critical. And so while PS is a game for me, I resisted the buy temptation as I feel I have better games that scratch the 'set collection' itch, including Splendor, Jaipur, Arboretum and Sushi Go, all contributing to my rounded collection. Based on your video, I'm not convinced that I need to buy PC either - although it seems to be a refreshing take on the 'Point Blank' line. Separately, your use of 'drafting' is appropriate as it can be synonymous with selecting cards from the center of the table (community or open draft).

Great video! I see The Wolves in your background. Will you be speaking about that one at some point? Very curious to hear your thoughts on it, especially at two players.

I can't wait to back this. I already have an alarm set in my phone.

Too bad this only goes up to 4 players, that’s a deal breaker for me. Well over half my plays of point salad are at 5 or 6 players.

Great review! I've considered picking up Point Salad to play with my kids. I'm guessing its still more accessible than City? I am intrigued by the solo mode though, so I guess I should get both!
@AllYouCanBoard Жыл бұрын
I would say Salad is a bit more accessible for kids, but Point City is a great next step too!

Will check out the KS if only to get a glimpse of the rulebook. I may have missed this in your overview, but when you "buy" a building do you discard the "resource" cards required, apart from the permanent previously purchased building ongoing resource?
@adamxpaul Жыл бұрын
Yes, he said you discard the resources, other than discounts from buildings. So in that regard, it's very much like Splendor.

Thanks for the preview! I'm really interested in this, Point Salad has been a big hit for us. Do you think it's different enough from Splendor or Splendor Duel to justify for someone who likes to maintain a smaller collection?
@joshjenson8111 Жыл бұрын
Its basically a combination of splendor and jeju island, those games are so much better, i wouldn't recommend this one, just play point salad

This is great, Dylann, thanks! 😀 I’m annoyed that Point City is being crowdfunded, so I’ll wait for retail, but I’m definitely more keen to try it thanks to your overview! (I saw a demo copy at SHUX at the AEG booth, but they never had a game going when I walked by.)

I can't wait to play with this! I'll be for sure backing this. Might also pick up Deep Dive

Dylann, can you confirm another difference? It looked like some Economy cards had 1 coin and some had 2 coins. I assume that the 2 coin cards would count for 2 towards your goal card. Is that correct? I don't think Point Salad had multiple symbols on the vegetable side of the cards.

I like point salad but I cannot get it because iitbis not solo playable.

Been looking forward to hearing about this one. Will wait for retail as always but thanks for the info :) As someone else mentioned, the fact that this only goes up to 4 players is highly likely to be a deal breaker for me as we often have between 4-6 players.
@RyanLangewisch Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the breakdown. Definitely would like to try Point City, though the lack of 5-6 player definitely hurts given the types of groups I often play these types of games with. Still looks like a clever twist on the original formula though, kudos to the design team!

I think it will definitely depend on the person. I personally enjoyed it more than Point Salad, but I think both games make a strong case, because they're both so solid.
