Point in Line: the passive attack

What happens if the fencer in point in line lunges resulting in a double light? Does the PIL fencer get the pount because the other fencer never took the right of way?

So long as Point in Line is established first and maintained (no beats against it, no break in the line, etc.), that fencer has right of way and will be awarded the touch. You can lunge with Point in Line, and lunges against it do not have right of way so long as PIL has been established prior to the action.

What if both fencers do point in line and run into each other?

If done at the same time, this would be read as simultaneous. If you can separate who initiated Line first, that fencer would possess RoW.

so is PIL same with sabre?

Yes, Point in Line follows the same convention in sabre as it does in foil. It must be threatening the target and disengagements only when searched against, but the line must remain unaffected and threatening the target.

Great video but your audio has a large amount of echos and makes hard to distinguish what you are saying. It may be due to the high ceiling of where you are you may wish to try a bite mic?

Thank you for the comment! Yes, it is an acoustic gym and there is quite a bit of bounce-back and echo. We are now using a mic on cameras and working on sound editing. We hope to remove echo completely in the future.
