Point Lobos State Reserve

We visited Point Lobos California State Reserve located on California coast on a day trip in September 2023.
This is a beautiful coastal nature reserve within driving distance from the San Francisco Bay area. This nature reserve consists of world class trails along the pacific ocean coast. You get the opportunity to hike along the coastal cliffs and through cypress groves overlooking coves and rocky shorelines. If you are lucky, you may see sea lions and sea otters in the coves below. We saw very little wildlife, it was not our lucky day.
We spent about four hours in the reserve. We hiked along three trails: south shore, cypress grove and bird island. We picnicked at the trailhead of bird island trail. These three are the most popular trails. There are many more trails and one can easily spend four more hours...
