So, I just finished watching the video and I just wanted to say a few things. I think I am not alone in saying thank you for sharing this process and talking to us when it is so obviously taking a lot of energy out of you. We are all feeling frustrated right now and we can all relate in some way to the emotions you are feeling with regards to your work/life processes. I think your audience is very curated in a sense that we understand when you say that you have nothing to share or you don't feel like your ideas are executed enough. But even by putting videos like these out, as rare as they are, you are continuing in your own stream of content creation and that is admirable. Now I do not want to assume that I know anything about you or your life, but I relate to you a lot and again, say thank you for pointing out the important thing - that ideas take energy, that they are POWER within us and that applies to us all. This message is very lengthy but I could not help but say those things and tell you again how much I, personally, appreciate your work. Put it this way, you are the only content creator whose content I can consume at any time of the day at any energy level, so much that you are the only one from whom I get the notifications. Thank you, Rachel, for yet again inspiring us.

What you said truly resonated with me, showing and talking about our process has something truly therapeutic to it, not matter how uncomfortable or frustrating it may be. I know you’ll find your way Rachel 🪐🕊 thank you for this!

eeeppppppppp I always postpone watching your videos until I'm in the right state of mind because they always make me feel so introspective and vulnerable. ahhh there's something so incredibly meta and unsettling about the depiction of reality as we see it, feel it, and unfortunately represented in these little boxes. still so powerful that you are able to transcend that little frame to share your story from your lil box to mine. sending love

rachel, seeing someone be so candid on the internet is so refreshing. often "honest" content that creators allow their audiences to see still feels to me very superficial, even if the subject matter is quite personal. but whenever you talk openly, even if you aren't being specific about what exactly is happening, I feel like I can really understand what you might be feeling. though we live very different lives, I feel like in certain ways I can emotionally relate to you and it is something I find very comforting as I really admire you. this time has been so frustrating and mundane for a lot of people including me and it's nice to just sit back and watch someone else vocalize it for a few minutes. I really resonated with this video and I hope you are well.

wowowow Rachel, thank you for this. I can't stop thinking about the part where you say we need to put ourselves out there, not on social media but 'out there' as in your closest friends and family. it's one thing to be vulnerable online with strangers.. but to be vulnerable to your personal circle, that is deeply profound and a grounding for genuine healing and growth.

Your best work yet, imo. I resonated with this concept a lot. The work that people seem to connect with the most is the work that is the most vulnerable; but unfortunately for the maker, that requires being vulnerable. Thanks for sharing your creative process - I’m sure that wasn’t easy.

I completely agree that sharing our experience is how we evolve. Storytelling is the basis for our connection. Even the mundane stories about our day are necessary right now so that we can maintain our sanity, connection, and co-regulate. It's hard to know how to feel, to understand feelings, or feel "normal" without exchanging the experience.

Also Rachel, not to comment multiple times on one video, but during the past like 8 months I've been rediscovering your channel and watching a lot of your "old" video (because when I watched them the first time I didn't understand the entirety of it because English is my second language) and I have to say, I don't know any other creater whose videos are so timeless, I watch videos of yours from like 5 years ago and I still enjoy them and feel like they're still relevant to these times, whereas most KZbin videos don't age well at all. This is a really big compliment because that means your videos are do insightful and important and all of those past ideas really carried energy because they're still impactful (at least they still impact and influence me in really good ways). Just wanted to say that, and I also feel like I've grown up with you, I'm about to turn 20 and I've been watching you since I was 15 or so. Hope you're ok.

"we only see the end results of people's creative process..." i couldn't agree more. the videos we see here in the internet are curated and edited to its best, and we only see snippets of someone's life. there's a lot of things happening when the cameras are off and with all those deleted clips we/they decide not to put in the final project. so as much as possible, let's be kind to everyone because we don't know what's truly happening to the life of that person we're watching. happy new year, rachel! wishing you all the best for this year.

omg I’m so taken by surprise with this video. And I think you can’t imagine how hard this video hit me. Ty Rachel. I am/ was one of your early ish wardians. I joined right after my bachelor thesis. Yeah right. this was almost 1/2 1 years ago. At first I felt so welcomed and warm at ward but with time I isolated myself. But not only from warde but also from my family, friends, sometime even my partner. And the reason for it all was bc I was so scared to put myself out there creatively and professionally after college graduation. Bc I always see end results. I’m ashamed of the things I do and did in my field and think that I cannot ever apply for any job. Of course this freaking pandemic hits and helps me out in putting off my job application. I lied to so many people about it. With All the different reasons. And I hate myself so much about it bc I’m too privileged that I don’t have to Life on the streets under this circumstances. Ugh idk I’m just venting rn. Sorry for this spammy comment but I don’t know where to go. This is so unstructured

I usually don’t comment but this made me rediscover a part of myself that I thought had long gone. What you’re talking about goes beyond just the creative like you said but as a creative, I had been feeling such a rut lately when it came to something that once really made me happy- editing. Through your talented editing skills and exposing your raw honesty to the fact that...there’s a lot of shit that people don’t see. You reminded me that I’m not a failure or messing up. It’s all a part of the process. There’s a lot of stuff that’s on the “cutting room floor” and that all that matters is that you try. Sometimes shit doesn’t work out. It’s not perfect out of the gate and that’s okay. If you really want to do something and to get better at it, you HAVE to try. And you have to trust and let others help you grow. I’m just realizing what my issue(s) were through this. Your videos are always a treat. Thank you for making this.

I have always wanted to post my videos on youtube but felt this overwhelming amount of shame from it - thinking that I would be judged from friends and family. I started sharing them when the pandemic first hit and it's been so fun, but i havent really been sharing them with my intimate circles. your perspective always gives me inspiration to just share my stories, bc we don't know who they might resonate with! i appreciate u and your rawness and i'm proud of u lil internet angel

Thank the universe for this video. Strangely enough I was feeling nostalgia for Vlogmas (which I typically always feel this time of year). I felt FOMO for it no longer existing but this video is such a beautiful and treasured evolution of your Vlogmas series. Thank you so much for always being so raw and real. Your vulnerability is truly inspiring and I always look forward to your videos. Thank you!

This video is beautiful I'm so glad you didn't scrap it. This also reminded me of another video I just watched, and quote i'm trying to live by "DON'T BE AFRAID TO BE SEEN TRYING".

End results. I havn't stopped to think about everything I see is an end result. To change my perspective to be alright with the process I am making should be validated. Thank you Rachel for the comfort you have given us💕wishing you the best

I saw this video a couple of months ago and it just recently popped up in my head today. I just had to say this entire video felt very "breaking the fourth wall" and by that I mean it feels as if you just broke the wall that separates you from your viewers. It's just great! Just feels very appropriate considering that many people probably can relate to what you're saying especially during this pandemic.

Watching this video transported me back in time to the first time I read this line by Joan Didion: “We tell ourselves stories in order to live...We look for the sermon in the suicide, for the social or moral lesson in the murder of five. We interpret what we see, select the most workable of the multiple choices. We live entirely, especially if we are writers, by the imposition of a narrative line upon disparate images, by the "ideas" with which we have learned to freeze the shifting phantasmagoria which is our actual experience.” ― Joan Didion, The White Album

I'm soooo here for this video!!! "Ideas carry energy" is so real, and many of us don't realize this! This reminds me of what I read in the book "Big Magic." Anywho, I appreciate the honesty and rawness of REAL LIFE SH**. We can get so wrapped up in loving a perfectly packaged "vlog," but you're right- we don't ever think of the process of that creation, as we're just focused on the consumption of it. And what is curated for our consumption, isn't necessarily indicative of real. life. Whewww. Your editing style is always inso and just so creative, thank you for sharing! You definitely left me with some food for thought!

this is the most refreshing editing I have seen on youtube for awhile; feeling an abundance of authenticity and originality through the screen, in addition to so many valuable notes shared. Amazing job! sending love

Love your authenticity I feel like alot of people have drawn them selves out of social media this year and I think that is good in a way because they are being real with themselves and not forcing themselves to be somewhere they do not want to be and live a life that does not belong to them. I went trough a similar thing, where i got out of all social media platforms, because i do want to live my life authentically and enjoy it, I do not want to be told that i am not enough, i have to buy this and that, i have to dress a certain way to be cool and fit in, i have to have a certain personality, etc The list never ends. I’m out of it, i free myself out.
