The actress is Emily Blunt and she is the only actress who was true to the roll in life. Linnet was only 20 years old and this honeymoon takes place in January. She would not be 21 till later in the year and Emily is only 21 here. Also Linnet is a blond in the book and as is here, the only adaptation that gets both these right.

Yes, she is certainly far better cast than Lois Chiles in the 1978 film. She absolutely fits Agatha Christie's description in the novel.

In the book this happens in a room in the hotel after meeting outside. Poirot says he looked into the commanding eyes of Linnet Doyle. She was dressed in a purple wrap over a white silk satan dress and looked more regal and beautiful than he thought was possible. At least they got the purple right.
