The fact that this man’s death was merely an accident makes Ivy all the scarier here. Remember that she’s more or less physically handicapped here, her health slowly deteriorating and she can’t use her powers to control plants. And yet she swung that golf ball hard enough to one-shot kill a pretty big and fit man by hitting him in the face. Let me say that again: a physically weak Poison Ivy *killed* a man by casually swinging a fucking *golf ball* into his face. And it was all just an accident. Now, imagine if Poison Ivy is in prime condition, and one way or another someone pisses her off enough that she just decides to not use her plants and start punching-and punching for real. Lex is genuinely playing with fire in getting on Ivy’s nerves so frequently. Because you can only go so far before too much becomes too much…

I don't know about mid-life crisis. It looks more like his classic character. Remember that lex is the guy who spent $75m in a fake presidential campaign, all just to piss Superman off. So, blocking the sun to get back at Clark, who works for the "daily Superman," because his trolling made lex's calfs litteraly explode out of rage, is such a lex thing.

Yes it is because the sun is gone, ivy's body due to being part plant requires more vitamin C and D to survive so shes more reliant on sunlight.
