CC seems like a genuine down to earth guy - do NOT pick up any of that cocky arrogance you get from too many rock stars - he seems really easy to talk to. I heard he got his life turned around several years ago - good for him and I wish him all the best.

Stryper easily the best and at the same time underatted glam metal band of all time.

I got this when C.C. auditioned but i don't think he stayed with Stryper; Michael Sweet talks in his recent book called "Honestly - My Life & Stryper Revealed" (released May 5, 2014) about the brief stint of C.C.DeVille in Stryper: During the audition process to find an additional guitar player, we auditioned a new guy in town from New York by the name of Bruce Johannesson, otherwise known as CC Deville. I had met CC previously and we hit it off. He seemed like a great guy and we got along well. Our band had been playing out as a trio for a quite a while, with me handling all the guitars, but we were actively seeking a fourth member. CC came in to our rehearsal studio and we went through a typical audition process playing some covers and some of our tunes, just to get a feel on how we'd gel together. Musically it felt great but at the end of the night, he inquired about the yellow and black. Rob was adamant about keeping the yellow and black, so when CC suggested he wasn't really into the color scheme, I could sense Rob's defense mechanism kick in. The yellow and black was Rob's baby and he was convinced we should stick with it. So no matter how good CC was, if he couldn't wear the colors, he wasn't going to be in the band. CC politely declined the opportunity, stating he really wasn't digging the yellow and black thing and that he was more of a pink and purple kind of guy. And our auditions with others continued. But to think, had our color scheme been pink and purple, CC Deville just might have become a member of our band. Just another one of God's miracles, both for him and for us, I'm sure. I can't imagine Poison without CC, and I'm certain he is thankful as well for the path he took.

His work on the 1st Poison album was fantastic, very creative and catchy, loved that record and saw them in the clubs back then... Don't know much about his later work w Poison, they lost me on the 2nd album which had none of the glam punk high energy of the 1st album...

This was in 1999. And even in recent interviews, C.C. has this kid like excitement when he talks about music, growing up listening to his parents music and just life in general. Seems like a really grounded, down to earth guy. People can say what they want about his playing, but the 80’s wouldn’t have been the same without his riffs and songs.

Wow, that Midco distributing booth right behind them. When I owned a music store, Midco was my main supplier I used because they were only 3 hours away, and I had quite a few friends who worked there. Sadly, they were sold to Musicorp which was sold to KMC which was sold to a company out of Canada and the Midco warehouses in Effingham, IL are no longer used for music products.

Just goes to show you what a small world the SoCal rock/metal scene was back in the early 80's. A band by the name of Metallica opened for Stryper (Roxx Regime) for a Summer of Rock concert in Long Beach, the year was 1982

CC was never a member of Stryper. He auditioned and didn't take the gig because he didn't like the whole yellow and black shtick. I'm sorry, but I cannot imagine Stryper with CC. That would have probably went bad in a quick.

CC was w/ them before the commercial Stryper took place. They were called Roxx Regime at the time. He was there not to long Stryper wasn't a "Christian band at first. It wasn't until the line up they have now were together and they made that choice. Along w/ the Yellow and Black. And wanna know something else.. Slash auditioned for Poison but CC was the right fit w/ what Poison was wanting to do. So.. The histories of LA rock bands.. Lots of bands have those types of histories from back then. Jake E Lee was in the original Ratt and got them to take his buddy Warren Dimartini as his replacement when Jake left. Axl was originally in LA Guns, then Tracii thought they should change the name to Guns and Roses, then Tracii left Axl and reformed LA Guns.. and on and on w/ the La band scene back then

@@ryant3600 Did I ask for a history lesson on LA bands from you? I posted that CC was never in Stryper, which is 100% true. There is no concrete evidence that he was even in Roxx Regime as an official member. I'm including an excerpt from Michael Sweet's book which details them auditioning CC for the first time. It certainly doesn't sound like he was ever a legitimate member of any band they formed at any point based on these words. "During the audition process to find an additional guitar player, we auditioned a new guy in town from New York by the name of Bruce Johannesson, otherwise known as CC Deville. I had met CC previously and we hit it off. He seemed like a great guy and we got along well.
