Saw Poison in '87. Not so much for me but for my girlfriend. I ended up liking the Concert way more than I expected. Since I was more into Maiden, Metallica and Priest in those days I didn't think Poison would impress me. But they did! They sounded flawless on that night and the show was not boring. Bret definitely connected with the fans. Great frontman at that time. A fan ever since.

Poison and now Brets band BMB have been my favorite since the 80,s throughout decades. Brets such a solid guy. No BS he's as he would say " just a guy from Pennsylvania who's band managed to make it to the top. Always humbled by his loyal from the start fan's and the one's adding on through each decade. Bret reinvented himself and grew HIS business in many ways. Music 🎶 always his first love. He has an exceptional ability to bring his thoughts to LIFE. From cd,s to HD video to his POOR BOY RECORDS. Bret Michaels amazes me at how successful he's become and stays SO grounded. An amazing connection with his Dad and Best Friend Wallace/ Wally Sychak. A man who served our Military who taught Bret he had to do his BEST with WHAT he was handed. Being insulin dependant from age 6. When there was llitte known about managing diabetes. Brets helping so many young kid's go to Camp where all kid's are equal all afraid an yearning for the knowledge of how to live very normal lives being insulin dependant for the rest of your life. Camp makes it that much easier on these kid's. Always searching for a cure. Bret Michaels always lives each day to the fullest. Saying tomorrow's not promised. I'm sure a "quote from his Dad 🕊✝" Who's passing really took a piece of Brets heart. A year coming up Aug. All in all Bret Michaels is a kind hearted human being, who treats people like old friends. He's one of the FEW successful musicians / entrepreneurs WHO has kept himself grounded loving and kind. He's right up there with Springsteen, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Sammy Sir Paul McCartney. Bruce Willis and his blended families. Charming daughter's. Grown up and raised to realise they're privileged because of the trade off of missing their Fathers growing up. So they would go without nothing. Again teaching them it could be gone in a snap of the fingers. @bretmichaelsofficial thank you for decades of entertainment and mostly thank you for being such an AWESOME PERSON. Definitely one of my favorite 🎸🌟 friend's. From the beginning to the end. My treasured 🎸🌟 friend 🤘🏻🤠🎤👖 👢 👢 🎶 🌹 🚲 🎼🛵🇺🇸🏟🗽📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀🎊 The Humanatarian Award recipient. Now to get you into THE HALL OF FAME. YOU'VE SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE YEARS AGO. Stay safe my friend, getting all those chores done. A bit of Go Cart riding in between. Hoping some New music 🎶 along the way. ✌🙏🤘🏻

I love these guyzzzzz, just did a lot of research for a project I was given and happily. Listened to all of their albums from debut to Poison'd!. Obviously their first 3 albums gave them huge mainstream success and it doesn't stop there my friends. Swallow This Live, Native Tongue, Crack a Smile... and More! and beyond are stellar. Anyone that can write and perform the ballads these guys did, are in my top 5. They worked through the obstacles, played so strong and enjoyed being on stage. I am so thankful for the opportunity to have gotten into the deep stuff with this band. Always been a fan but now I know more of the amazing stuff behind the scenes. I had to seriously lol at this because, way back when, I had to sit through SOOO many [cringe] interviews with people who a.) have no idea who you are. b.) had not listed to any of your music to determine if you were worth the interview or not. c.) had to do the cut jump scenes where the interview seems to just die suddenly and then the awkward off camera convo between the interviewer and the producer and then the promo back into the interview that is broadcast. Promotion is a tough gig. Especially if you've never been introduced to network TV before. Back then it was local cable shows and if you DID make it to an MTV interview, things were a little more polished, a little...Radio interviews were always easier b/c you only had to SOUND good. Poison did good here. Bret was always a promo savvy type of person (still is). The rest of the guys were just like, whatever. 😆 Anyways, this uncut edit of an "Other than MTV" interview brings back alot of good memories.

In 1987 street scene in LA was tightened down and it was to close by 7pm and it limited alcohol to specific locations in LA I think to 4 to 5 spots because in 86 a shooting occurred and one reported r@pe. Now going to Woodstock 94 was pretty great and I was so looking forward to 1999 but unfortunately the r@pe was out of control I mean so many so those that thought Poison was the fall of the world was way off base and times were so much better back in the 80's because when the 90's hit so many people were angry, bitter and just vile compared to the 80's and it reflected in the music as well. That was huge for me because the 80's was more like a big party and the 90's was more like the fight club and being a teenager in the 80's I really thought life would stay the same longer than it did but it turned dark pretty quickly and it's so unfortunate because those that didn't get to experience the 80's will never understand how much fun it was and people still respected others and it was just cool. Once the 90's come we really didn't have any more privacy either because of technology. Poison was one of my favorite bands along with Ratt and early Motley Crew Too Fast For Love. Too fast for love will always be my favorite record by Motley Crew. It was cool because we had new wave with Depeche Mode, The Cure, XTC etc and even pop music was next level in the 80's with Journey and Phil Collins. You had metal like Metallica, Judas Preist, Iron Maiden and later GnR, etc and Punk was still going strong until about 85. You had a true variety of music and it was for me the best of the best in the 80's. Seeing so many bands for a great price most of the time was the draw as well. I think the highest ticket price was Micheal Jackson which was to be expected. Seeing Prince was another great show and he played danced his butt off and it was still under 50 bucks which was a lot for a show back then. I still have my ticket stubs for Poison and Cinderella which was 25 bucks and Poison with Ratt was 20. Getting to see so many great shows for a great value while in their prime. I saw Kings of Leon in 2021 and it cost 280 per ticket but I still paid that crazy amount because I didn't get to see them and I beat two primary cancers squamous cell carcinoma that spread to my bones (terminal and endometrial cancer and was in remission for close to two years before the endometrial cancer come back and I'm glad I got to see them but you can't just go see 30 to 40 shows over the summer and fall anymore unless you're rich or doing very well in life and that's such a tragedy imo because music helps teenagers especially be able to express themselves and being around those that like the same things. It's unfortunate what's happened to the music industry especially for live shows and I'm talking more about the price.

Wow that's so interesting I pray for u to get healthy and stay healthy. Honestly speaking I'm a gen z and music isnt the same in the mainstream anymore the industry is corrupt, however a new revolution in rock may occur in the underground scence soon.

Its not that it was 'cool' but rather shocking. Which was the purpose. Metallica and Iron Maiden were cool. There is a difference! Back then every band had a different vibe. Unlike today where the market is over saturated with no room for originality. Poison weren't considered cool. But they were accepted as another 'flavor' added to the very large menu of bands to choose from. And some people liked them after hearing and seeing them perform. Some hated them too. But I can tell you, they were pretty good when I saw them in 1987. And that's coming from a die-hard Maiden,Priest, Metallica maniac back then!
