I'm kinda suprised I didn't see a spreading seas. How come? Its really good to enable islandwalk, replaces itself and gives you devotion, blanks a land an opponent controls or even colourfixes your own.

If I hadn't built Chatterfang, I would build this. Merfolk is a blast to pilot in constructed formats, in my opinion at least. That Seb McKinnon art is solid as always.

Great video. Spectral Deluge is a sleeper card for sure. Its practically a cheaper Cyclonic Rift for Mono Blue.

And great video! If I would play merfolks, I think I'd go with Sakashima+ something else, or one of the mutate legendaries. Have you guys tinkered with any of the mutate legends as the head of a Tribal deck? I thought about it and the idea that your commander merges with your creatures and becomes a leader, infuses them with extra abilities. I think its really cool and I think it could or should open up a bit of designspace =) Like Nethroi Treefolks/zombies, Vadrok Merfolks? Etc etc ^^

I bought my own svyelun together the last few days and i noticed that your budget cuts are making this deck a lot worse. You simply cannot play this deck without the extra turn merfolk. Such a powerful card. Seahunter, thada adel, empress galina and of course kindred discovery should be in there. I am also playing bident of thassa for even more card draw. Having card draw constantly is better than just playing a brainstorm for 1. But your list seems to be good enough for low budgets... So here is my thumb up
