"Over 2.6 gallons of water" is classic "Pokedex entries are written in metric and then converted to US units for the localization"; that said 10 liters when they wrote it. See also: the Steelix "six-tenths of a mile" entry. You mean a kilometer? Or Skarmory's 185 mph, which is 300 kph.

36:00 the reason the speed is so inconsistent is the same reason the amount of water needed to inflate qwilfish is so strange. They are converted from metric units. 2.6 gallons is around 10 liters, and 186 mp/h is pretty close to 300 km/h. So the different numbers are just different localization teams preferred ways of translating the units

Miles and kilometers have an exact conversion between them. There was no reason to change the speed.

Umbreon was originally meant to be a poison type before they changed it to dark at the last minute. Which is why the Pokédex talks about poisonous sweat.

i swear not, I've been binge watching these for the whole week. today, I counted 15 points on a video I haven't seen yet and I'm shooooooook. These are so fun to listen to because lets be real, who doesn't wanna have big falling Pineco? Getting Cleffa felt right because I've seen so many clips of Cleffas around meteors, but one of the words had to be different for sure. Mantine I remember because I recently finished Ultra Sun, TTar just sounded bizarre. Elekid SHOOK me when I saw I got the word right, but the sheer amount of second guessing that goes on in that group and in my head was too much. So much of a headache that imma keep watching

umbreon was going to be poison type, before game freak decided to make it darktype hence the poisonous sweat =) besides that, poisining others would fit the evil type (what they name dark type in japan)

i think the reason why umbreon has that poison sentence in its pokedex entry is because the beta version of umbreon was poison type but it got scrapped and when the beta game finally leaked online it proves that there was an early umbreon version that was poison type instead of dark type

Hoothoot's organ is based on real bird facts! Birds do seem to be able to sense Earth's magnetic field and use it to navigate when migrating. They don't (seem to) have a special organ for it, though- we're actually not quite sure how they do it, but recent research suggests they may be able to see it because of unique chemicals in their eyes.

However I also assume the pokemon content creators should have at least played each main series game, or at least have general knowledge about the game if they refuse to play it for some reason. I haven't played any pokemon game sold for $60 besides a short playtime in brilliant diamond before realizing my mistake and keeping to my plan to never pay $60 for another pokemon game. However I still know about all the game mechanics of the new games, as I did my research into the game before deciding it isn't worth it.

Those are actually both wrong from an etymology standpoint- since octopus is derived from greek. 'Octopodes' (insert stupid deez joke here) However, since english is a made up language full of nonsense, both octopi and octopuses are now considered grammatically correct 🤓

Skarmory is exclusive to Silver in the area south of Blackthorn and no one uses it in game, vs. being on the path in every Hoenn game and used by Winona and Steven, so it really feels like it's gen 3, but it's not.
