This is the best English version of the original Japanese opening theme I’ve ever heard! Kudos! I don’t understand why the English crew are too lazy to actaully adapt it because all they care about is making their own songs and music. You should really ask them to use your song for Pokemon Journeys

I dunno about lazy, I think it’s more just a rights issue or budget issue than anything. That was stated to be the reason why the English dub was only ever used a handful of the Japanese OST for each season, and replaces it with an original English score. The openings and endings probably cost even more than that since they’re made by big name artists. I guess when it comes to other anime, other dubbing companies are able to afford keeping all that, or the Japanese music licenses for most other shows are more lenient? Though it’s not like we ever see openings and endings sung in English-it used to be a bit more common back in the day but not so much anymore, since all songs are kept in Japanese. Either way, the Pokémon has had to deal with a lot of that, so it’s really up to the Japanese music publishers, the staff of the bands who make the OPs, and/or the Pokémon Company being willing to toss some more money toward the dub that’ll fix this issue.
