I just thought of something, though I am too lazy to go to the episode where you fought Brock, maybe the creator(s) of this rom-hack realized that in the anime, Ash could use Pikachu's thundershock/thunderbolt all he wanted and it would have full affect, so he made Ground-types as if they all were effected with something like Ring-target, or something that would remove something's immunity to a type of an attack.

Fun Fact: If you fall in the pits enough times to run out of Escape Ropes, and you can't get out using Dig for some reason, you're stuck there forever and have to start over from a new file. The game provides no other way to escape the pitfalls, and the four Escape Ropes will NEVER respawn.

You have to download the fire red rom and put it in a folder and rename both files Pokemon Ash Gray. If you are using VBA on a pic then you put the folder into the saves directory of VBA
