Started this ages ago and just polished it up recently. Took me around 8 hours to complete.
I tried adding the WCS reference, but it didn't really fit with this theme so after listening to a bunch of soundtracks from other games, I finally settled with a suitable intro. Let me know if you can guess what game and theme its from - hint: not a Pokemon game.

I know that Red has become something of a legend, but think about Gold. Red beat 8 gyms, the pokémon league and an additional champion. Gold beat 8 gems, the pokémon league, after that he went through an additional 8 gyms for a total of 16, then beat the league again, and in the end, he even brought down Red. Gotta at least acknowledge that kid's accomplishments.

Versus picking up the game, knowing NOTHING and running into her unprepared or underleveled. Anyone who knows where she is, her team and what is to come can prepare a comp 🤷‍♂️ Cynthia is one of the few challenges in Pokémon that has you not walking away unscathed.

Great rendition of my favorite Champion's battle theme. The Garchomp in the image looks like its out for blood, as many of us experienced back during 4th Gen. I just wish that Mega Garchomp was a more threatening Mega, the drop in speed and the fact that Sand Force is at best a temporary buff that requires team support really hurt its viability. Oh well, at least they didn't go the other way and make it too powerful like they did with Mega Salamance, because that was too much.

Though the main group of people who use such Pokemon are usually children or inexperienced young adults, so handling them isn't usually too much of an ordeal, especially since they don't usually soft-reset for good legends or properly train them. Though you do get those few who are experienced and then use them anyways; beating them is the most satisfying.

Just because it's slighty slower doesn't mean it can't do damage. I use a Max Speed one all the time, and I never have issues using it. Then again, I don't normally come across anything that can OHKO it anyways, so it almost always gets the return hit.

+Travis Lacy I'm certainly not saying the M-Garchomp isn't a threatening Mega or that it can't do work, but that the direction that they took M-Garchomp detracts from what made it good in the first place and makes it less viable than regular Garchomp. The first thing that made Garchomp such a force to be reckoned with was its speed tier of base 102, which outpaces the common base 100's and 101's like Landorus, Salamance, Jirachi and the like. Dropping it down to base 92 not only means you will be outsped by those Pokemon, but that most all of the commonly used OU and UU dragons will get the first hit on you, with (non-mega)Salamence, Haxorus, Hydreigon, and M-Charizard X all taking you out before you have a chance to do anything should you already have gone Mega to better take on the enemy's team. It's ability is also lackluster when compared to most other mega Pokemon, being at best a temporary buff that can't hold a candle to the likes of the other abilities that other similar Megas get, such as Aerilate, Parental Bond, Tough Claws, or Mold Breaker. It's ability also requires team support to even make M-Chomp worth using over them, limiting your team options when using it and often times leaving it weaker to hyper offense, the most common team style outside of balance. And finally, they put 40% of the 100 BST increase into M-Chomp's lowest stat (SpA), which decreased it's bulk and speed. A stat spread of 108 HP/ 165 Atk (+35)/ 110 Def (+15)/ 95 SpA (+15)/ 100 SpD (+15)/ 122 Spe (+20) with the Sheer Force Ability would have been much better, though not entirely game-breaking. Greninja, Weavile, and Noivern can naturally outspeed (as can many Scarfers), Ice-Shard users can still priority revenge kill it, and its Earthquake won't be too powerful, though its coverage moves and Dragon Rush can get more usage. Its reliance on Dragon Rush for power will also keep it from being too good as the move's accuracy is its greatest shortcoming. I don't know, I just wish that the Mega of my favorite Pokemon was good enough to see decent usage in high tier latter and tournament play. Not seeing it at all (and for good reasons) makes it also seem like they wasted the chance to make a cool Mega for a fan favorite, and that's the greatest error a Mega can commit.

When I listen to the beginning I imagine that Cynthia is trying to stop the player from pursuing something that could ultimately end up hurting themself, and Cynthia is trying to stop you to protect you. It kind of has that tragic ring to it.
