I just realized that the first gym leaders: Cilan, Chili, and Cress' names are just shortcuts for some ingredients. Cilan = cilantro (that's why his main is grass) Chili = chilli pepper (main is fire) Cress = cress sprouts (can be put in soups, so therefore that's why his main is water) Just a theory, i guess 🤣

My favourite leaders in gen 5 have to be Drayden and Iris. They’re dragon type leaders, and dragon is my favourite type, and Iris becomes a champion in Black 2/White 2. Her champion battle is pretty tough for me, even with lv100 pokemon, and the theme is amazing.

I just love Iris as a character in general. She's so ambitious and outgoing in the games and even in the anime (very underrated series tbh), and her personality combined with her Dragon-type interest make her one of my favorite characters of all time. She alone is one of many reasons why I love Gen 5 so much more than any other. I grew up with the late part of Gen 4 and most of Gen 5, and she was just so memorable for me.

I find it very interesting that Elesa is one of very few cases in all of Pokémon where a Gym Leader has been intentionally nerfed in difficulty from their previous appearence. She was such a pain to deal with in BW that they got rid of one of her Emolga for quite possibly the world's worst Flaaffy in B2W2 (two levels from an Ampharos at that), and her AI uses Volt Switch a LOT less in B2W2.

Pokemon Black and White's gym battle themes (including the "final Pokemon" theme) has everything that a true Pokemon battle feel has! It really makes me feel like I am in an actual Pokemon battle, as it is portrayed many times throughout the entire franchise! I wished more main Pokemon games would *emphasize on having this similar feeling as well. *all main Pokemon games, as far as I know it, have this similar feeling ("drive"), as well. But nothing has that special certain emotion that Black and White and their sequels give off to me. I love Pokemon so much! ❤️ I wished all Pokemon games could be modelled by Black and White's design.

Thoughts on each Unova Gym Leader: Chili/Cilan/Cress: The fact that which one you face is dependent on your starter is really unique. Aside from that though, not too much to say Lenora: Not too much to say about Lenora, tbh Burgh: He's alright. Not amazing, but alright Elesa: She's neat I suppose. Her gym's pretty neat as well Clay: He's cool. Skyla: My favorite. She's pretty neat, and I actually really like her gym. Brycen: He's neat Iris: Disregarding the anime (which I'm not familiar with when it comes to BW), Iris is pretty nice Drayden: He's pretty neat.

Lenora is by far the hardest gym leader of this bunch. Like drayden is not even that hard because you have access to Ice type pokemon and he doesnt have a TM that does like double damage when an opponant feints. Lenora’s Watchog is so OP with its Retaliate and I lost so many times to her. Like yea Fighting type moves help but still, she is one of the hardest beginning Gym Leaders I have ever faced.
