Pokémon Collector's Case Unboxing (Generation 1) | Nintendo Collecting

This set of Generation 1 Pokémon figurines made by Hasbro was released in the year 2000. Sold at KB Toys for $129.99 in stores, the set also includes a special bonus of Togepi as a 152nd figure. Each Pokémon figure measures roughly 1 inch in size, and they are all displayed in a frame that protects from harm and dust. Though there is some discolouration to several of the toys, I believe this set is an excellent addition to any Nintendo or Pokémon fan's room.

For those that are saying that the discoloured figures are shiny, I might have to disagree. Shiny Pokemon weren't implemented and did not exist in the first gen. For a set that came out during the first generation of Pokemon I don't think they are shiny. They most likely have started to lose their colours and started to discoloured. Correct me if I'm wrong though. The set is really cool though.

+Amiibo TLP yes there are shiny Pokemon but the squritle and vaporeon are still coloured wrong, squritle shell only is meant to be green and vaporeon is purple with no tail colour difference. I did think they were shiny figures but a quick Google search proved me wrong.

generation 1 has 1 shiny,in episode 1 ash saw a ho oh but it wasn't just a normal ho oh.It was a shiny ho oh.it has sparkles on it and colored orange and white.

Very nice collection indeed. I have some of those figurines but I'm having trouble locating Venusaur, Charmeleon and Charizard. I will try to get this one day. Also I know I this will be obvious but my favorite gen 1 pokemon is Charizard but I love Venusaur, Blastoise and a few more.

I remember seeing this only once in a KB Toys when I was a kid, and I wanted it SO bad. I have some of the "mini" Tomy figures and the mini Hasbro figures (like the ones in this set, I remember you could buy them in blind-bags too), but I've always focused ton the normal sized Tomy figures. More of a personal preference. Awesome find Lithium.

Blaize Well, for the most part, that's true. However there are some cool Pokemon that came out in later generations, such as: Swampert, Girafarig, Talonflame, Braviary, & Victini. Not to mention they came up with new abilities, items, trainers, legends & concepts.

I have this set, which I am selling, and the colors are vibrant and not faded. I really think his is an original but it was kept in the sunlight so some of the figurines are faded.

I have this set, and it was "kept in the dark" most of their lives. My colors are vibrant and correct. I think his was in the sun and the plastic faded.

I don't understand the disappointment in the discolorations. I believe that it not only makes the set unique, but it also adds to the overall value of the set. Also, the gray bases for some of the figures exist solely for use of the figures with thin limbs. If you look at some of the figures that you pointed out, for example, Ponyta and Alakazam, you will notice that they have very thin limbs. The creators of these figures realized that the main buyers of their product would be young children who would of course be much more "active" in using them. Yes, it does take away from the attraction of the figures themselves, but the durability of the figures was most likely one of the top priorities at the time. Overall, I think that you purchased a very nice set, at a very reasonable price. Congratulations!

You can also buy unofficial ones for like 3$ for 24 pokemon. Just look for mini pokemon figurines on ebay or wish and you'll be able to find some c: I have always bought those ones, and a lot of them are really similar to the ones that are shown in this video and I bought them for cheap...But they probs aren't official but I don't really care haha c:

The vaporeon figure looks shiny because a shiny vaporeon is pink. I think discolored things or manufacturer problems are rarer than regular and usually cost a lot more for some reason like the amiibos that are upside down or broken in the box. Cool collectors case though!

From what it looks like, these figures are not the same as the usual Tomy figures, but they appear to be smaller. Maybe they are the pencil topper figures. At least some of them look distinctly different from the Tomy figures, such as Raichu and Bellsprout. What's strange is that the checklist/poster depicts the Tomy figures while the actual figures in the case seem like lesser quality representations of the actual figures.

It looks like it's the mini Pokemons that came in blind bags (I still have some), I remember that the minis with thinner legs had the gray bases because they where made of a rubbery plastic and wouldn't be able to stand without them.

I got 80/151 my first time, and I have one of those too! I've had it since I was little and fortunately are still in good condition but without the cardboard piece :(. That discoloration has always been with it even new they came that way. I thought it was weird too that Squirtle and Vaporeon looked greenish even with other blue figures looking, well, blue. Why Hasbro, it was almost perfect.

I'm sure someone has already said it but have you considered looking into replacing the two discoloured ones ( finding replacements for those two that are more accurately coloured, opening the case, and putting them into the spots to make your set more accurate )? Though it's probably a lot easier said than done, finding the proper figures and making sure they're the actual ones for the set, not knockoffs. All in all though, that a gorgeous set, it's brilliant they have this, and all in order too !

I'm dying to get my hands on one. I made a table too game with dice and a checker board. They all have Health Attack Defense Range Moves. And numbers ranging for the stats. They love it I love it I have about 15 different Pokemon wrote up with their stats and it's balanced and fun! I wish I had all my old ones from back in the day. I love seeing my kids love Pokemon though!

I remember seeing this in a KB Toys when I was a kid and Pokemon was in its prime. In fact I was already familiar with these figures before I saw it when I bought two blind bags with a few of these same figures. The only ones I remember having though is Blastoise (which was my favourite of the batch) and beedrill. I wanted to find and collect more but didn't ever find any afterwards ecxept when I saw that set at KB Toys which was $100 at the time and wouldn"t dare convince my parents to buy it. My dad was even shocked when I pointed it to him and then noticed the price tag.

Actually, the greenish (looks aqua to me) Squirtle is more accurate than that deep blue one on the chart. I bought 144 figures on ebay for $25 and I was so disappointed when they came in. They didn't have much effort put into them, some parts aren't painted, facial features are far from accurate, and a lot of the coloring is wrong. I wish I knew this existed before I bought those. I'd happily throw the extra $155 for something as glorious as this, lol.
