I always found it so strange how DPPt has a unique soundfont while HGSS's is almost the same as what we got in Gen V.

Even so, I'd say there's a slight difference in how those instruments were used between HGSS and Gen V. HGSS focused more on trumpets and overdriven guitars, while Gen V is more about the synth for the most part.

i feel like since hgss and bw most likely shared some development time, they just decided to use the superior instruments for hgss. i honestly wish they also used them in platinum but i guess they didn't bother.
