I feel your pain; got screwed $40 years ago for a total bootleg. I was like 14 and didn’t know bootleg Pokémon games were even a thing. Doesn’t transfer Pokémon out, whether through trade or Pokéwalker, and it crashes frequently. If I had proof I bought it from them, I would demand a refund from that dump of a place.
