The awkward moment when these were remakes and had WAY more features than any other game. follower pokemon, pokeatholon, battle frontier, 2 regions, 16 badges and gyms, E4 round 2, gym leader rematches, mobile phone within the game, different events based on the day of the week and a MASSIVE sound track completely remastered INCLUDING the option to turn on the old 8 bit for them all.

Red Only the GB sounds didn't return and they just lazily stuck a battle maison in a Japanese region instead of bothering to make the tower or even frontier. The cave where you met Steven also annoyed me, was I supposed to feel nostalgia from that tiny thing? OR/AS disappointed me largely, with the mass amount of changes made to it the thing felt nothing like the original game apart from it still being in Hoenn with 3rd gen encounters. Let's not forget the little screw you they added of AS players getting to surf on their legendary and OR got nothing.

Silicachu I think the reason why they didn't put GBA sounds in OR/AS is because they didn't want players dying of too much nostalgia...

Silicachu you also forgot to mention that the games came with a PokeWalker which encourages kids to walk for them to catch more pokemon and Items. Another reason why HG/SS were one of the best Pokemon games. The only down fall is if you lose the PokeWalker, you also lose that pokemon that was inside...

@MrMillerboy6 Actually, in Unova, the first Gym Leader(s) were Fire, Water, or Grass, depending on what starter you chose. The Normal type Gym leader is the 2nd.

Same music for both.. Gym Leaders and Elite 4 shared a theme until Hoenn. Hoenn and Kalos are the only two with separete themes to Gym Leaders and Elite 4.
