Finally someone says this besides me. I was trying to say big box was just simply getting more allocation before PE was released and there is no shortage or short printed. Distributors were getting cut to supply big box. Everyone didn't want to accept the simple fact that big box gets huge margins on this stuff and they want a bigger piece of the pie. Especially with demand the way it is. They have deeper pockets than anyone and can push the product faster. That's it and it's that simple. That's why you still see fat restocks of PE at big box. It was just funny how many people laughed at me and told me I was wrong for trying to point this out, when I couldn't understand how they didn't see this. Anyways, great video for pointing this out. 🍻

Well by the way that most lgs store sell product I won't mind if most of them closed shop because of this.

Pokemon is diverting supply from hobby channel to big box retail because Pokemon is disgusted by how hobby distributors is withholding products and then raising prices, which results in LGS jacking up prices. By giving more stock to big box stores, it allows the casual collectors access to products AT MSRP! Pokemon is a household brand like Nintendo, they don't want to see $250+ booster boxes 2 weeks after release! Pokemon will eventually cut ties with the hobby channel and just go direct to consumer through it's Pokemon Center Online and with big box stores. They are finding huge success with Costco, and the big box stores will take all and more of inventory from the hobby side.

I don’t know if you’re talking about as a whole for elite trainer boxes but my allocation for elite trainer boxes tripled with Southern Hobby and doubled for booster boxes. The only things that seem to be getting strangled are checklane blisters and sleeved boosters. Those counts are almost nonexistent, compared to the 3 to 5 cases that I was getting on previous releases. It does seem that sleeve boosters three pack blisters And check lane blisters are being more heavily allocated to big box stores and elite trainer boxes and booster boxes to LGS‘s at this point, but that’s just my data from Southern Hobby.

Good data point. I had another store mention a similar increase with southern. We did get more booster boxes than surging with them. GTS and a second tier both mentioned, at least in the northeast, they received less product than surging and way less ETBs. Your relationship with Southern is almost certainly older and stronger than ours so def makes sense.
