Looking back at the game that started it all makes me apprecite the twist of who disappears in Super Mystery Dungeon more. Like its the hero’s turn to feel the grief...I cry every single time without fail. Especially in the Explorers series. If that gets remade, I’ll be an emotional mess for a week again...like I am right now. 😭

(Whoever reading Read more contains spoilers) Well. Tbh I felt you're partner in PSMD makes all the decisions like a main character :) I find this hilarious and really a big twist. Ordered to be his first friend? Getting asked to Join on the expedition while you're tired and sleepy? Getting chosen to bear the scarves? Being the one helping you're partner going up instead of you on the tree of life? Also the one who last hitted D. matter. And a twist ending as well.

While I still prefer the 2D sprites, I love how this game looks. The painted texture the backgrounds have look amazing, and the dungeons are back to feeing big again.

It's funny I realize that the Pokemon who were given Megas all seem to be teamed up. Charizard, Tyranitar and Alakazam in this game, (Blastoise has his own team with Feralgatr and Swampert so Swampert could Mega Evolve too) Medicham, Lopunny and Gardevoir in the Explorer game, I'm not too familiar with Gates of Infinity but I know that Quagsire is some big shot in this game, and finally Super Mystery Dungeon has Mawile and Ampharos.

Do you think there's a multi player option? Like 2 or 4 teams exploring the same dungeon in Co-OP? Or perhaps sending team members to another team? Maybe even Duel against other teams?

@@rogue1248 The DLC has no bearings on this game. This is made by Spike Chunsoft, not Gamefreak.

There was multiplayer in the fourth game, Gates to Infinity. Since the entire game is turn based, you'd have to wait for each other person and the enemies to take their turn before you could do anything, including walking. This largely killed the flow of the game. I am not surprised that Spike Chunsoft has not tried to bring it back.

If you want a multiplayer option, Chocobo Mystery Dungeon has co--op. Unfortunately everytime a second player come in, the game play the same shitty song instead of the normal dungeon music. It's baffling why they did that.

Is this game a prequel to Explorers? I guess it makes sense, but they don't go for expanded stories in Pokemon games, outside of references. And those don't really count.
