I forgot trainers in gen 6 are still stuck in 2d pics. Even the gym leaders and elite fours. Only Steven and your rivals are the animated ones. Its kinda odd b2/w2 are animated lol. That was a bit let down for me. Im glad they animated all of them in gen 7 and beyond.

While I've come to respect the fact that they've given more elaborate animations to trainers at the beginning of battles in later games, one thing I do personally miss are some of the additional unique screen effects that were included for certain special encounter. In this case, one of my personal favorites has to be the dragon's maw closing over the screen in the introduction for Drake.
