Im not even going to lie, im tearing up watching this. I was born in 1995 and grew up with the 1st gen games. My parents separated when i was young and Pokemon was my comfort blanket. Like most reading this, i spent many hours getting lost in the Kanto region. To hear the game sounds and to see the similar experiences through actual animation, is both nostalgic and euphoric. Pedro you have really done an excellent job in capturing the whole journey here! I know It doesnt mean much but youve just earned a new sub! I would love to see a Johto story one day. don´t hold your breath for something like this, the Pokemon Company is no longer aiming to please their old fanbase, they know that most of us are in our mid 20ths to mid 30ths and we are already grown up adults with things to do with our lives so they are aiming to the kids who have hardly anything to do this days. I´m telling you if I was a 10 year old right now I would have A LOT of free time. If I had Chat GPT and the modern internet I would have all my homeworks done in less than an hour and the rest of the day I would be chillin playing video games. My nephew gets home from school, makes his homework quickly with Chat GPT while his mom makes lunch and the rest of the day he does NOTHING but play video games. The Pokemon Company knows kids have way more free time now and that´s the fan base they are aiming for, not us "the oldies with busy lives". Also after the older fans called out the Pokemon Company for how unfinished Scarlet and Violet were, we are not held in the best regards by the Pokemon Company because now they know e are not forgiving them so easily

This film captures so well the growth story players experience in Pokémon, watching your team evolve, remembering rough spots overcome together, all culminating when you see your own lineup in the hall of fame… the emotion is indescribable, and Pedro’s film hit the mark like a bullseye. The love for the Pokémon games is blatantly evident in every frame. I actually cried when you even inserted the long-distance trainer glitch that allows Red to catch Mew. And very creative to have relegated the Missingno cameo to a bad dream. Thank you for this gem.

Rewatched this a lot lately, and a few random observations I've made in said rewatches, and also just various things I didn't comment on the first time that I absolutely loved: 1: I thought the swamp during the Sabrina battles was so random and strange, until I realized- it's a marsh. She gives the Marsh Badge. 2: Green and Erika are totally a couple, aren't they? I didn't see it at first, but once I saw it I started shipping it so hard. 3: This one I noticed from the very first time I watched, but I never commented on it- I love how the item obtained jingle plays and sounds so off and wrong when Giovanni obtains the Master Ball. It's the tiniest friggin' detail but it's just so cool to me. 4: Viridian Gym in its entirety. Giovanni and Red upping the stakes on the Gym battle, with Red staking all of his other badges on this, and Giovanni responding by staking the future of Team Rocket on it. Red sending out Mew and just validating Giovanni's claims all along. Mew healing Nidoking's eye. Giovanni pointing out everyone Red's got on his side, all the friends he's made, only for Red to point out that Giovanni's got that too, in Team Rocket, in everyone who follows him so loyally. Mew's head spinning as it's watching the Seismic Toss. Rhydon narrowly beating Charizard only for Mew to come in and land the finishing blow. Gotta Catch 'Em All playing after the battle. I friggin' love it. 5: Taking the small detail of Daisy being the one who gives you the Town Map and expanding that into her _making_ the maps. That was just a really nice touch. 6: Misty's Squirtle wiping out Green's Venusaur and Electabuzz with Ice Beam and Dig respectively. That might not seem like much, but I've always been one to appreciate the type coverage the Squirtle line got in Gen 1, and I tend to think Squirtle is the best starter to pick in Gen 1 because it can actually cover all its weaknesses. 7: I don't think I can say enough good about the Raticate arc. To take a morbid fan theory and animate it and the consequences thereof, and have it just keep coming back throughout, I respect it. As soon as the music changed and Raticate was sent out I had a bad feeling. That whole scene- Blue trying and failing to withdraw Raticate, Red getting the captain to help, Poliwrath's sad cry and shaking of the head... Then Red getting flashbacks during the Surge battle and switching out Nidoking even though he was the blatantly correct choice for the battle, only to be forced to bring him back out later, and Surge just absolutely getting it from his own experiences in the war, and them bonding over it... Nidoking getting left at Oak's, only for Bill to hack into Red's storage to get it back out during Silph Co., and Nidoking saving Blue and redeeming himself... and not to mention the white hand on Red's shoulder belonging to Raticate's ghost! And Raticate forgiving Red, passing peacefully into the afterlife along with Marowak... You, sir, have a gift for this kind of thing. I have called this a masterpiece in the past, which is why I am going to call it a masterpiece again now, because this is a damn masterpiece.

I can't say much...other than Thank you, Thank you for this masterpiece. This movie... not a god tier animation, not even a single dialogue, but still conveys the feelings, the emotion, the stress, the experience of being a pokemon trainer. This movie alone is better than 90% of cinema. The best story, I like how you didn't stick to the original game...but took inspirations from it and added depth to it. I would never forget the evolution of Charmeleon to Charizard in my entire life, how you gave a reason for Giovanni to be a villian, added layers to the story of Daisy, Misty, Prof. Oak, and many other characters. Pedro, I must admit that you did a good job with this series. Especially with the characters, like Red and Blue, how they come into conflict to learn from each other. But not only them, I also liked the others. -Leaf : Being a girl who had to learn the hard way so that she understands that she must try harder to improve as a trainer and in the end she was able to find another way to learn about pokemon. -Prof.Oak and Giovanni: Their history as rivals that caused a great series of events to make more sense of their motives and how they ended up fixing their problems. -Daisy: Having a more active role than just giving a map, with a role as cartographer and helping from time to time -Red's Mom: Yes, she didn't do much, she was fine with MVP, that is, supporting Red and the rest of the characters, more than anything with Leaf receiving her from her house and encouraging her when she felt bad about not being a trainer competent. -The Gym Leaders: Brock, although he didn't interact much if he could teach some useful things. Misty was very helpful and also her girlfriend with Red. L.T Surge who helped Red overcome the trauma of Raticate, and yes, their training sessions that made them feel stronger. Erika helping Leaf to let go of her past with Team Rocket. Koga teaching more efficient techniques to capture his past that he wanted to be part of the Elite Four. Sabrina with the problem with her power that made her walk away from the world but in the end she regained her contact with people. Blaine who was with Team Rocket but who didn't do the right thing had a chance to redeem himself.

What you have accomplished - with mediocer animation, no voice acting and an exceptionally well chosen and edited sound track - is nothing short of amazing. I found myself organically more interested and invested in this show/movie than any big budget movie that has come out in the past 15 years. Edit: The level emotion and torment you were able to convay for what Giovani went thought on his way to creating and leading Team Rocket, using nothing more than the few basic tools I listed above, is masterfully done. The amount of story telling and character development what was displayed in 4 short minuets turned Giovani into an unforgetable 3 dimensional villion.

I sat down to watch this thinking I would just watch a little bit but I couldn't help but binge the entire thing. Wow. I'm at a loss for words brother, this is just stupendous work. How you deal with the loss of Blue's Raticate, the trauma this causes for both Red and Blue, and how you wrap up that arc in Lavander Town. Absolute master class of storytelling. How you put in the romance between Misty and Red in an organic fashion (I absolutely love the idea that Red is the guy we see Misty going on dates with at Cerulean Cape in GSC, and I love how you fit in how that place is special for them by having them almost have their first kiss there). How you incorporate Leaf/Green into the story, how you fill in all the gaps about Giovanni, Blaine, and Mr. Fuji's relationship with Mewtwo. I mean wow, you understand the story of Kanto to every last detail and go beyond the vision of the game developers (I also love how you incorporate the Pokemon Journals you can find in FRLG). Also how you handle the severity of Team Rocket's abuse/selling of Pokemon (that little mini arc the one Rocket Grunt had after seeing Cubone really got me). That Sabrina gym battle could really be its own anime arc, my god that was just truly genius how you captured that battle between both Pokemon and trainer. And all without a word of dialog. I wish I was in a financial position to support you cause you deserve everything. I hope one day Nintendo recognizes you for your effort and gives you a job in an official capacity. Yet even if they are too blind to see the potential here, I'm glad you have given us this. I got choked up so many times watching this series brother, it means a lot to me to see this. Your blend of comedy and drama is something some professional screenwriters don't even have the ability to capture. It's hard for me to explain in words just how much I loved this 'movie'. Even with minimal dialog and animation that doesn't come _close_ to what The Pokémon Company is capable of producing, you were able to create probably the best retelling of Generation 1 that I've ever seen. The way you brought Kanto to life, and how you incorporated later additions to the series in a way that doesn't distract from the core of the story, makes official efforts like Pokémon Origins look like a joke in comparison; especially the Gym Leaders, who were little more than roadblocks with names in Generation 1 (and continue to be so in future gens), but in this series, feel like they actually _do something_ beyond just give people a badge. Plus, the little character arcs that you gave some of them, like Sabrina, are far more effective than the middling efforts made by the actual main series. None of it was excessive or overbearing, and none of them felt like they were either underutilized or overstayed their welcome Speaking of characters, What you did with Red was perfect. He's not just some cold badass like all the memes make him out to be, but he's not a bumbling, optimistic idiot like Red from Origins either. Also, what you did with Green was amazing. Making her Red's adopted sister was a great idea (especially the way she was brought into the family, Red's mom is awesome lol), and I love the relationship she has with her new family. And Blue? Man, what a glow-up! You didn't just leave him as some cocky a-hole to serve as catharsis, you actually gave him a proper character arc; one that doesn't feel linear or predictable, and works great with what we know about him from canon. He's easily my favorite character in this. Anyway, I could probably spend even longer gushing about how much I loved this, but this comment is corny enough as-is. Thank you _so much_ for making this, and conveying the _experience_ of playing the Gen 1 games far better than The Pokémon Company ever could.

the fact you already prepared for season 2 (gold/silver) in such a way that is easily understandable is borderline genius... looking forward to it :D

This fan-made Pokémon film is incredibly well-crafted. The inclusion of cameos ranging from Dragon Ball Z and Jurassic Park to The Shining and The Ring was a delightful surprise. The sheer amount of time and effort put into this project is astounding. I was thoroughly entertained by everything, especially Misty's love story and the subtle nod to her mysterious lover (Red), as well as Blaine's original manga backstory as a Team Rocket member. The way over twenty years' worth of content was seamlessly integrated into a single video is a testament to the creators' dedication and understanding of Pokémon lore. The execution was smooth and impressive, capturing the essence of the Pokémon world while paying homage to its roots. I'm eagerly anticipating the continuation of this journey through Johto. The storyline involving Misty was particularly moving. It provided a refreshing take compared to the original series, where Ash often suppresses his feelings, leaving Misty's affection unreciprocated. This film revives that neglected storyline, bringing a much-appreciated depth to their relationship. Overall, this film struck a chord of nostalgia, brilliantly catering to long-time Pokémon fans. Again, thank you for this video. 10/10❤

Thank you very much for the kind words, I'm glad to read such a feedback, and acknowledging that all the time working on it brought so many good memories. Also, I'm really really grateful for the huge support! It helps me a lot to keep things going! I'm doing my best on johto series, and I hope to be able to make a golden conclusion when it comes to the final fight of red vs gold!

the crucial difference in the ship department is that ash is STILL only 10 [by the end of journey's, at least] so he's probably content with beign single despite all the people mass shipping him, and Red and Misty must be about at least 13 or something in the pedro araujo -verse in the video.
