I miss Red. Remembering my childhood in Gen 1, he is certainly the legend when it comes to ALL characters in the entire series, especially protagonists. Seeing him as the real final boss in Gen 2 was indeed a shock. But now, he rarely ever shows up. Kinda funny that in Let's Go, the male protagonist in it is basically his successor re-living his Yellow story.

I personally believe the protagonists of Black and White are more legendary. Hilbert/Hilda actively have an effect on the plot and characters, they point there rivals and the antagonistic force throughout the game and help them realize their true selves. They also literally reawaken a Legendary that was said to only awaken for the chosen Legendary Hero. With whichever dragon Legendary Hilbert/Hilda receive, they actively save the whole world in Black/White.

@@rafaeltorres3121 Nah, Gen 1 was buggy and boring, Gen 2 had terrible level curves, story, and Pokemon variety in the main campaign, Gen 3 is where it started to get better but it was a bit dumb on a logical standpoint in terms of story, Gen 4 kinda sucked but I do still love it. Gen 5 improved on Gen 4 gameplay, made a great story, had great visuals, bopping ost, better writing, and the Mons in it were still pretty good for the most part. If anything Gen 3 or 4 in terms of writing is where Pokémon started getting "silly". Gen 6 is when stuff started getting worse.

@@tinywomanhours disagree*, Gen 1 didn't need a story to be good, it's story was your journey, or i guess Red's journey. had Team Rocket not been interfering with things so red couldn't progress, he would've had no reason to ever talk to them, because that's how the world works. Team Rocket were just another obstacle that Red, and on another hand Blue, needed to go past to become champions, and for a tiny game-boy game in 1996, that's really all it needed to be, it's when Game Freak want's to have more that the story starts becoming sh*t. This is why Cyrus and Team Galactic are such crap villains, and why Gen 3, Gen 6, Gen 7, and pretty much Gen 8 too, along with P;LA i would argue are absolutely awful in story, because Game Freak can't write for their lives additionally, you are correct with that Gen 2 has such a bad story*, mostly because of the previous statement i said, although most of the story moments were few and far between so i personally don't make a fuss about it. Silver is hella' bad because they really didn't know what to do with him, and just game him so sh*tty redemption at the end even though he REALLY didn't deserve it, Lance is so boring, literally any other NPC in Pokemon would be more interesting to talk to them him (personally I wish Karen was the champion), and Team Rocket falls with Silver in these remarks as they didn't know what to do with them. Don't get me wrong, Red Blue and Yellow aren't the best games in the world, and Gen 1 has needed a lot of improvement, and respectively got it in later games, but your claims are just borderline stupid, and very one note. (*I disagree with the fact that Red Blue and Yellow were """""boring and b u g g y""""" as you put it) (*emphasis on STORY, Gen 2 GAMEPLAY WISE is not even that bad dude. Sure most of the new 'mons aren't available in the main campaign, and the Jasmine - Chuck - Pryce level curve is really weird, but those are just some issues the devs looked over since they were working with such limited hardware, every game is gonna have it's major game play flaw(s), doesn't mean that G/S/C are bad because of these flaws, just means they needed some improvement *cough heart gold soul silver cough*)

@@WubbaDubba198 okay buddy, but I only made vague claims about the games and didn't really expand on my takes as I didn't feel the need to, a lot of those games are still enjoyable in my eyes and to claim that everything I'm saying is borderline stupid just goes to show how biased and ignorant other people can be. I could very well list a plethora of reasons why I think Gen 1 is a broken, jumbled mess of a first game. That's just not entirely fair though and I understand that since it was the first, it deserves some leeway. I would say even with the flaws of the Gen 2 story, it is still one of the most flawed games from gameplay perspective; progression wise, mechanically, and difficulty wise. HeartGold/SoulSilver did improve a lot on this front and they're in my top 3 favorite Pokémon games- but I cannot say that they don't have a lot of the sams issues(if you want a basic summarization of the issues you can go checkout Pokémon Challenges "Why Gen 2 is the Worst Gen" video). You probably won't wanna check it out because knowing how stubborn and ignorant Pokémon fans are they won't be able to handle an inch of genuine criticism and just wine but I'm just throwing that out there. Also check your facts since I never said they were down right bad, it may seem that I implied that but no- I never directly made this claim because that's just not true. These games all have merit to them but my original comment was given the context of me comparing these gens to Gen 5 which sorely lacks appreciation from a large margin of the fan base because Pokémon fans are just allergic to change. Thanks for your semi-constructive comment, it was a nice read for the most part but I'm too tired to be dealing with people being assholes because I don't suck off to Gens 1 through 4 like they do.

Red will forever be my favorite NPC Character in Pokémon his silence paired with his horrific strength really shows what the Player did, and losing to Red is exactly how it felt to the NPCs you had defeated when you played through any game. I hope in any future game where he appears, they give him amazing AI. I want Red to be an absolute monster to defeat. I want him to be the unbeatable legend that Cynthia is. Yeah I was always super intrigued by Red. My first pokemon was heart gold, my little 12 year old brain couldnt handle how huge that game was. When I finally got to his final battle I was astonished at his lvl differences. He is without a doubt the strongest trainer I ever had to face in any pokemon game. Canonically Ethan never actually defeats Red. The fight is left up the player's interpretation because the official guides for HGSS never give an answer to who was the victor in that encounter. He no longer has the blessing of "player input". After losing the blessing at the end of gen 1, he felt lost without it. It used to be an integral part of who he was. He trained and trained because that's what his mentality was conditioned to do. But this time, without the player's guidance. He became the only NPC that experienced the sheer incredible power of the blessing. He has not forgotten the feeling. He was able to overcome every trainer he came across, guided by the memories of his blessing. He gradually grew bored of dominating every opponent he faced. He eventually found the blessing again, but this time on someone else. A challenger approached him at Mt. Silver, and he was beaten by the boy who now had the power he once had. Realizing that the blessing is no longer his, he gained a sense of purpose once more. He now dedicates his training to one day be able to defeat the people who were blessed like he once was. This is my fan theory of Red.

@@kagari1426 I know what your talking about, it's the name confused changes, but their the same girl and I can explain, in japan from the beginning in the artbook of gen 1 was supposed to be green the rival and blue the girl even she don appear in the games of 1 gen, but because the green rival became blue on the English version, when in the FRLG they decided to oficially adds the girl to the game they put leaf to don't confuse the people cause green and blue were the same character the rival. In lets go finaly they decided to put her name properly and somehow homenage the manga too, but u can see is the same character and in the manga she uses both designs the FRLG and the Let's go design confirming she's the same character. ^^

My theories: #1 Masters and Origins are the same universe. #2 HGSS and FRLG are in their own separate version of the Original Timeline, where the further events in B2W2 are much the same as in the RBY and GSC timeline. I’m going to call this timeline the “Remakes’ Timeline”. #3 Red was still training on Mt. Silver in the Original and Remakes’ Timelines during the events of RSE. #4 During the events of XY and ORAS, Red had disappeared to Mt. Silver, and would appear there if there were a Mega Timeline Johto game. He then returned to the as-yet-unseen Mega Timeline Unova to be in the Champions Cup, before coming to Alola with Blue.

10:00 the Espeon is actually likely the one he has in the manga, named Vee. It's was actually a special Eevee that had been expiremented on by Team Rocket, allowing it to change into any Eeveelution depending on the situation. Eventually after a battle, Red had it change into a regular Espeon, which it has been ever since.

The manga isnt canon, and The game red is different from The anime and mangas reds... Game reds starts with bulbasaur. The rival with charmander. The Game Red in Yellow is only based on The anime with ash. Thats why they made that game so you start with pikachu and other things. Yeah, in the ORAS mangas, the Devon Corporation’s plan to destroy the meteor is by having the starters Mega Evolve and use their ultimate abilities to generate Infinite energy, which they plan on using to make a wormhole to send away the rocket.

@@wellifailed392 I believe Ash is 11 and he may hit 12 years old in the anime. Hopefully, the anime focuses on a new character in the future, but Ash's future connects with his present in such a strange way. Like if Gary's son has unintentionally traveled in time by a pokemon who is linked to a specific timeline. In the next comment, I will explain.

So on earth, this Pokemon appears in the form of a seed that drops from the afterlife from its Tree form. Every time time is altered by celebi, dialga, etc., the tree form of this pokemon will drop a seedling of itself down. Those Pokemon could be found in the 9th region. From there when these seedlings travel through time, they only do it to escape humans. In future anime episodes, Gary's son should have one of its pokemon attack it so that he can use it for research but this pokemon would try to flee leading him to grab the pokemon the moment it travels back, taking him with it.

Fun fact: in the ORAS postgame episode, Zinnia says that Mega Evolution can mess with space and time properties, thus having the hypothesis that Mega Evolution can create "alternate timelines", so basically this can confirm that the "Original" Red is from the Mega Timeline, wich can be considered as the "Real" original timeline and the No Mega Timeline being created by the power of Mega Evolution

I believe that let's go Red is based on the adventures manga seeing the trio's starter and Green (or Blue in Japanese) appearance is so different from the games

Actually, its based on the Artwork Early Concept of Sugimori Ken-san drew for the starters with Main character.. Special/Adventures manga follow that concept for starters.

Thank you for putting together this video. It provided excellent context for a franchise I loved growing up. I do want to point something out though. Something you overlooked was that in the Let’s Go games, Prof. Oak says, “In the past, trainers who defeated the Elite Four were only recorded as Champions. This time, however, we’ll be officially establishing the Champion as part of the Pokemon League!” This means that according to the Let’s Go lore, Red never defeated Blue to become the League Champion. Red only defeated Lance and was named League Champion alongside Blue. So, while this doesn’t conflict with the continuity of the Mega Timeline, it does conflict with your commentary on events when you say, “To my knowledge, we don’t actually have confirmation of which one was Champion first, but it’s implied that it happened the same as in the Original Timeline. Blue becomes the champion, and then, Red defeats him.” You go on to say that “It’s actually possible that Red was the Champion that Trace defeated in order to become the Champion.” Although, you do say that you think this is unlikely, and you would be correct. In fact, that isn’t even a possibility because we already learned from Prof. Oak before the battle with Trace that this is the first time challengers of the Elite Four would need to defeat the reigning Pokemon League Champion in order to become the next Pokemon League Champion. So yes, Red likely just left of his own accord as you said, but left what exactly? In this timeline, Pokemon Champion isn’t a title one defends. That is, not until Trace becomes the Pokemon Champion. Prior to Trace defeating the Elite Four, trainers who defeated the Elite Four were named Pokemon Champions in perpetuity. Red moves on, and we see him again in Alola where Blue says, “We were both Champions of the Kanto region, in our own days.” Thanks to Prof. Oak, we now know that Blue meant both he and Red were simultaneously Pokemon Champions.

Would it not be simpler (and thus more likely) that the events of the Let's Go! games weren't canon but origins and masters are? That makes his team in black/white 2 simpler to explain also. Just a thought

LGPE being canon doesn't even work because of Mina being around, there's a 20 year gap between gen 1 and gen 7.
