I wonder if there are more non-Pokemon fans complaining about Pokemon than there are actual fans. Well, if so, I count myself as one of them! ...Which is why this video is still such a blast to watch! Good job on presenting a balanced view on the positives while not holding back on what makes this game so atrocious. ...Now you just need a refund...

The Pokémon games were great when they were 2D video games. They could have made the games like an anime. It worked for the Nexomon games.

Ok, what is wrong with NJ? I live here and it is not as bad as you think. Also, Game Freak needs more help with 3D. I love the ambition, but the technical issues are frustrating.

Yeah… I’m at the tail end of Generation X so while I do find the character designs cute in Pokemon, the games have never appealed to me. By the time Pokemon came out in the states, I had already played scores of JRPGs. What truly astonishes me is that adult people continue to buy these games… every year… and then complain about them. You know what it reminds me of? People who are still obsessed with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles even though they are 39 years old. It’s just kinda sad.

@@BoringBrandon1 Haha, fair enough. It just amazes me that people could stick with a series that long with so little evolution. If nothing else, I would just get bored with a series that had a game released, literally, every year. I don’t know if there is any game I would pay $60 (or $120 for the truly obsessed) each year for a game that you could predict 80% of the content. Not only that, Pokemon games are time sinks. This isn’t some kind of platformer game you can breeze through in 10 hours. They are full on RPGs. So that’s like 30-50 hours each year? Like I said, i wold take a break, come back in a couple of years to see if it was worth my time/money. It’s just a unique situation that you only see in series like Madden or CoD. Accept rather than a sports game where you are basically paying for a roster update (with the ability to play with the online community) and a game where you are paying for map updates (and the online community), you’re getting a game that a lot of people think peaked 10 years ago. To each their own I guess. Still…. it’s beyond me.

great take. i had fun as well but the problems definitely started to weigh on me. i only finished the game last night have buying it on release week bevause the dull environments didn’t pull me back. but stories and map design were top tier. the big showcase scene at the very end reminded me of the beautiful art of xy, so we know these people have it in them. i like that you pointed out that we critique these games because we love them and can be great. hopefully the backlash has some impact on the development of the next game

@@annedrieck7316 reddit, among other places, Hated this game at first. you couldn’t say you enjoyed it without being downvoted. it was the terrible frame rate and general unfinished feel that got them riled up
