Still doesn't make up for it in my opinion; there was potentia,l but she had too many common problems and exploitable weaknesses like underperforming pokemon such as Gogoat and Avalugg, pokemon we've seen and fought before, and while held items not being used by bosses applies to every trainer, she could've had at least a red card or a gimmick that pressures opponents to swap out into entry hazards. Imagine she opens up with a Palafin that flip turns into her Glimmora and follows it up with toxic debris/stealth rocks.

I think Geeta showed the biggest problem with Pokémon's approach to gimmicks in the story mode: They always save the gimmick ace until the end, and always on the same Pokémon. If the AI was programmed to a) bring their ace out at the optimal time b) use the gimmick on any of their Pokémon and c) not immediately hit the gimmick upon switch in then it would add a level of challenge in assessing the opponent. Geeta's tean wasn't amazing, but it would have been a lot mire threatening if she used Glimmora as a prediction switch to set up toxic spikes.

Geeta was never designed to be a final boss like other champions of previous games, and she's not even the final boss of Victory Road since that's Nemona's role. Poor lady was doomed from the start

When you frist meet her she's glazed to high heaven for being strongest and then when you face her she sucks dogwater and then she comes back with mid team for round 2 and her (in universe) fans came out glazing her again saying she's still the strongest champion who doesn't pull punches but she is clumsy... you know who else was the strongest and never held back and clumsy? Oh my goodness Glitch this is so good! As disappointing of a fight Geeta was, I adore her battle theme, and I was so disappointed no one gave it the love it deserved... until now! Your style works so beautifully with the track and the build up is just sensational, definitely one of my favorite of your recent works!

I know this is just a Remix of the Champion theme, but honestly this feels more like a Character theme cause it fits her so much better. Like I could imagine this being played for a battle that happened before the Champ fight.

Anyone notice how Geeta's team in Indigo Disk is a reference to all the different pieces in chess? Glimmora is the pawn, because its ability sets the stage. Much like how the pawn is used to set up a blockade on the board. Dragapult is the rook, because it's based on a crossbow, a medieval weapon that was fired from atop castles, which is another name for the rook. Chesnaught is the knight because it's based on, what else? A knight. Avalugg is the bishop because it has slits on its body much like how the chess piece has a slit in its head. Espathra is the queen because Espathra itself is based on the real life queen Cleopatra of Egypt. And finally, Kingambit is the king for obvious reasons.

There was also ths glitch a lot of players, myself included, experienced early in the game's release where it only looped the first few seconds of the Elite Four & Champion themes. Forced to have to find them online, but they were still good

One thing I hate about the majority of the Pokémon community, they immediately call a champion the worst champion ever if they’re not super difficult. They did it with Diantha, and they’re doing it with Geeta now. They’ll do it again as soon as there’s a weaker champion. I don’t think that way. I agree her team during the base scarlet and violet leaves a lot to be desired, but I personally like her design, character, and her presence in the main story. That’s something you can’t say for a lot of champions.

Well, can you blame the community for thinking that way? She IS weak. The only reason Diantha isnt considered weaker then her is because Diantha has mega Gardevoir as her ace, meanwhile this lady has a set up pokemon for her's. Her team is bafflingly horrible even taking into consideration how easy pokemon games are.

My one gripe with it is that right before you fight her she says she's "incapable of holding back in battles" when the entire arrangement of her team is designed almost exactly to hold it back. Her presence in the games is great and I do like her character (though I think there should have been more that was done with it in the games), but they shouldn't have made her battle contradict how they made her character.

They’re not wrong but that’s my major pet peeve about the Pokemon community considering how they call a champion “weak” whenever the difficulty is less to be desired and while I wholeheartedly agree that her team is flawed and far from being perfect, I still really love her character, overall design and overall presence during the main storyline. And Diantha wasn’t perfect either but I still like her regardless, sometimes people need to be chilled out and being more open minded towards opinions!!! 🙄💀🤷🏻‍♀️

Agree with both arrowblade and ashely here even though they’re not the strongest by any means I love geeta and diantha as characters and wish they got more love and were shown off better because overall there is no denying they weren’t shown to their fullest capacity, their teams are full of great and unique Pokemon that we don’t see too often but they weren’t used great either and I wish that was remedied, because I actually like when champions use unconventional Pokemon because from a world building perspective it shows their skill more in my eyes because you don’t need a powerful pseudo legend to be a top trainer but you have to use them right which gamefreak failed to do with geeta and diantha

Geeta is one of those characters that Im not sure if I like her or not. I mean she has an interesting design but doesn’t do much that’s memorable compared to other characters or champions for that matter. At least her theme song slaps though.

Yes her actual champion team was underwhelming, but has anyone thought that was the point? Considering they've improved her team twice now and the DLC she actually has a good team in the right order. As the champion test is exactly that, just a test to see if you're worthy, maybe she doesn't use her full team during the champion test to match the elite 4s test. Could be wrong though and shes just dumb 😂

@@crossgear3042 yes but in the second part of the area zero dlc they changed her team and the order in which she sends them out. Which honestly it should’ve been that way to begin with, so now she’s a much better champion and probably more difficult to beat too.

@ yeah but thats dlc, she is the champion of champions in paldea, the one who everyone looked up to. The boss of the league. Her character comes off as a practical, pragmatic and calculating character of high intellect and sense. Her fight should have been difficult in the first place. She was in her battle by far the easiest and most boring champion fight in have ever done. Even her in battle quotes and her pre battle quote implies she is bored because she is so good no one reaches her level. Telling me before the battle starts she is utterly incapable of holding back and then immediately has the worst team order saving one of the best battler openers for her ace in the hole as her last pokemon and not saving one of the arguably best pokemon in the game to have as a final ace and using it early instead.

They really need to fix the difficulty in Pokemon games. At least give the option for a harder mode. Should be where the gym leaders /bosses Pokemon level match your highest Pokemon level in the party. And for them to actually switch with a type mismatch. Kind of like pokemon stadium games on the 64.
