Some feedback, I disagree with the lv scaling ruined the game. The map maker already are intentionally put the weak lv gym one on a side and strong lv gym on a side, They also put the hard gym and titan on harss terrain like slow mountain and desert ( which hard to get too) and you hope to fight weak pokemon there? Then some how the nearby bug gym ledar having 2 lv 55 bug it funny to me. So it you false to run into the play that already be warning by the map maker. It dont help that you complain about tutorial are too "holding hand" then ask for a "babysitting" system that limit the world to you the player so you always have a same LV fight. It wouldn't be fun and challenge it every plase you go are just around you lv and nothing hard, nothing easy. If you want easy game play try to read some information that already in the game or try the closet object to do since it most likely easy. But if you like challenge, just slam you head in what every you plase you like, if you lose grind some LV and try again or may be think about back track to find more new power up that help with you problem. Most of great open world have no LV scaling because it also both break the world and the discovery experience of the player. That my ideal about the LV scaling and i like how SV dont have it. The only bad thing about the LV it the dark crew and the bug gym are being put too far form the grass type gym and the fire crew which make people skip two of them.

I haven't played arceus yet, but I would think there's a big amount of difference in the work they would need to put in animating every move to every pokemon model in this mainline installation. Also they couldn't just drag-and-drop from Legends: Arceus because their production overlapped. It's a bit sad what is the state of this game and I really hope they patch things up. Kinda having fun still. If they'd fix the biggest issues, made character customization better and maybe made the game just a tad bit harder (it's almost impossible not to overlevel to the highest of highs) then it would be really fun.

We do really need to acknowledge the fact that Pokémon Games have just become a Cash Grab, guided by the greed of The Pokémon Company. They know they're the only one that can produce a "Monster Catcher" game with this big of appeal, so they're just gonna continue to give us more and more thrash and unfinished games. It breaks my heart so much because: 1. We as fans are expecting a brand that continues to evolve and diversify, just as they did from gen 1 to gen 6. 2. Those developers are putting Hours, Days, Months of their time and fatigue just to see their product become a JOKE. But then there's people that only care about money, so yeah, minimum effort and maximum profit. This formula is what we're gonna get for the next 2-3-4-5, who knows how many, generation. We need to recognize this pattern and see them as cash grabs without trying to sugarcoat some aspects, this is not acceptable to any standard. When Cyberpunk released an unfinished game Sony REMOVED it from the store, and they were forced to repay every single purchase because people were not happy with it. Why is it ok for us?

When they started revealing trailers for SwSh they (the fans) made excuses about obvious issues and that they will "fix it before launch" and when it did release they moved the goalpost and said "they'll fix it with an update." And when non of their excuses works they resort to ole reliable: "it's a kids game". The issue is that we really have no support, so critics are quickly silenced or drowned out by rabid fans.

But I think because it is Pokemon we shouldn't have to put up with this crap. Pokemon is the biggest media franchise and they produce a game like this? It also doesn't help that those Pokemon youtubers promote the game and get sponsored links. We should just boycott these games to make a point. Should they change anything if they can get easy money. Finally someone that understands that GameFreak is not to blame. The Pokémon Company is to really blame for Scarlet & Violet turning out the way they did, they gave a limited budget and force GameFreak to finish the game within a specific time frame, so GameFreak has to time crunch and has to release the game in a buggy state. I also feel that GameFreak don't want to ask The Pokémon Company for extra time due to the way things work in hierarchy sometimes, GameFreak don't want to "bite" the hands that feed them, I mean they get to make mainline Pokémon games for godsake so they can't even say anything toward The Pokémon Company.

And just like what happened with Sonic 06, the company will use the backlash and online ridicule as an excuse to never try making this type of game again, intentionally misinterpreting what everyone hated about it. Sonic 06 was basically Adventure 3, with many cool playable characters and an interesting story. But it was rushed for the anniversary and became a trainwreck, so they stopped having other playable characters, stopped writing interesting plots, the characters never took anything seriously again, and Sega basically distanced itself as much as possible from the game, killing the Adventure style for no reason. Pokemon will end up the same way. Open world is absolutely the best direction to take the series, and it has a good story, lore and mechanics. But they wanted it out before Christmas and now it's a critically panned buggy mess, so Gamefreak will never try an open world game again. They'll probably also make the next game's story as simple as possible, and remove anything GOOD that these games intruduced, even though it had nothing to do with the game being a dumpster fire.

@@viruschris3160 yep I fought the gyms rather out of order Grass,, Electric, Bug,, Water,, Psychic, Ice, Ghost, Normal. nemona fights you before your 3rd gym battle, right after the 5th gym battle, and right before the 7th. Every time she was 1 or 2 levels below the gym leader you would had faced on the normal order. Example ionos ace was lvl 24 Nemonas ace will be lvl 22 or 23 I dont remember exactly. Then I faced the bug gym and Katy was lv 15 L. Nemonas ace after you defeat the 5th gym leader which in my case was tulip whose ace was lv 45 Nemonas ace was lv 38 2 levels higher than Larry's ace at 36.but for me who just fought a team of mid lvl 40s which I was underleveled for i was right on par for nemonas team strangely. Before fighting the 7th gym which for me was ghost. I fought her again and nemona was lv 43 which was actually 1 lvl higher than rymes ace who is 1 lvl lower at lvl 42. But she was higher lvl as I was meant to fight her before tulip not ryme. So Nemona is scaled on your badge count but not necessarily the badge you will fight. Very large oversight. @@KojaVukovic I completely respect your opinion! I will agree this game was VERY hyped and as someone who has played the games since 2002 (I’m 24 so since I was 4) and tends to focus on positives of a game rather than negatives, even outside of Pokémon, I still will agree completely with a little more time they definitely could have made some things better like the graphics of people walking from a far and the windmills, as someone who doesn’t care THAT much about graphics I know I will be bias but it doesn’t really take away from my personal experience of the game, it was still 10/10 for my experience. I do at the same time completely understand some peoples’ complaints of the game, I agree w them, the only disagreement I have w Pokémon fans in general is yes every game has their glaring flaws but they pick at their flaws so much to the point every game they’re only talking negative about it, instead of talking good or at the least being honest and talking their good and bad. It’s like some wait for a new game to come out just to complain about something new. I feel no matter how hard Pokemon did try to make the perfect experience and they had as much time as they needed to make the best game, Pokémon fans will still complain. ofc I’m just talking fans in general I’m not at all saying you’re like that.

I’m now a 24 year old who started Pokémon with around 8 years old and Pokémon Pearl. It’s safe to say that I was spoiled a lot because when my own “Pokémania” hit, B/W was released and to me it was somewhat the equivalent of how Kanto stans must have felt during the Gen 1 era since Gen 5 tried to be something entirely new in a very stagnant formula and I got accustomed to that. Never understood why people hated Gen 5 in the 2010’s and find it ironic how now people look fondly to Gen 5. When X&Y came I enjoyed it and even the Kanto references + enjoyed Sun&Moon, but by the time SwSh cane out I was really bothered by so many Kanto references and even seeing how Let’s Go got a really good treatment. With these games you can see that they were allowed to take their time but when the Gen 4 remakes arrived it was clear they had to be rushed out to make a quick buck which made me really unhappy seeing how these days anything with Gen 1 gets polish and the rest not. Especiallly with SV I felt like I’m done with this franchise and now I’m hearing rumors about a Gen 5 remake or Legends game in 2024 and I’m fairly worried to say the least. Plus, yes, 5 years of time would be a great amount of time, however, BotW took also 5 years to make and Nintendo has more employees than Game Freak plus Nintendos’ employees are like wizards in the video game industry. These people have proven time and time again that they can put absolutely amazing graphics on consoles which should not be possible thanks to lots of technical trickery because they are just that good and knowledged in their field and even they had to take 5 years to make BotW. I don’t think Game Freak’s employees are really that knowledged in 3D. And even in the 2D era they had their starter problems. For example, everyone knows that GS has the Kanto region in it but this was not done by Game Freak but actually Satoru Iwata. Yes, you can read it up online. Mr. Iwata looked at the games and said that they were a complete mess and single handedly saved the release date plus had some time left and decided to put the entire Kanto region into the games simply because he was just that good at what he was doing. I agree with the fact that, probably, Game Freak is, at least when it comes to their technical knowledge, a form of indie company but just with loads of money so they can hire a lot of externs to help them out which in my opinion might not be the best solution long term. Personally I feel the best solution would be to double their team to 300-350 people and actually take one or two year of breaks to scholar all of the developers to get them to the level of knowledge of modern 3D games and then, and only then, I believe the 3-year-cycle might actually work. Although even then I’d prefer that they take 5 years for each main game. I’m playing TotK recently and just simply can’t help but compare SV to it. The amount of things you can do in TotK compared to BotW makes this game feel so much more real it’s hndescribable if you haven’t played it for yourself and when comparing it to SV, SV just seems like an alpha prototype that should have never seen the light of day.

The saddest part about the frame rate, many people online said, restarting the game fixes the frame rate for some time, before it becomes bad again and you need to repeat the process. Meaning that the console can handle the game but that the game didn't fix its loading block problem but leaves them lumped up using up the consoles processing power and making it unable to load in new blocks. Meaning that they haven't put one of the most essential things that every game has IN THE GAME.

You can remember moves at any time, TMs are no longer freely reusable but you can pretty easily make more if you need them, picnic allows you to transfer egg moves onto an existing mon apparently - beside shiny hunting or people wanting to have the right stats and natures from the get-go, there's no need to spend a tonne of hours lugging eggs around.

They absolutely needed more time on this one because you know the game is unstable when it needs to be reset like every two hours to prevent memory leaks and crashes so it won't run like ass. Whatever higher ups at Nintendo or Game Freak who are still wanting these games to be yearly are really hurting the series at this point and I hope this launch gets it into their thick skulls that mainline Pokèmon definitely needs gap years now. I don't get why they think Pokèmon wouldn't be able to survive or spin off games and merchandise alone in a year nowadays because it absolutely would.

Similar to what was mentioned in the video, I felt disappointed that the three paths in the game weren’t three separate story modes. I thought that I could play the herba mystica route and once that was finished I can get to the endgame but I was disappointed to see that you need to beat the other story modes in a set order simultaneously to get certain upgrades. It would be nice if you could do either just one story route or do all three with either one or multiple teams so each player has a vastly different gameplay experience and a wide range of Pokémon to use instead of just mainly sticking to six. I wanted to raise three different teams for each story mode and you still can in the base game, however, you need to use exp candies to level up your Pokémon since there’s no rematch trainer battles. The game’s advertising made me think it was going to be this way but it wasn’t. The game constantly shoves in your face that you’re free to do whatever you want yet its nearly the complete opposite in game.

Did you see that you can disable story cutscenes in the settings? If I ever do a second playtrough of this I'm skipping everything until the "treasure hunt" starts. I think they aimed to give "guided" experience with the levels. The gym leaders have kind of "tiers" depending on how far you are from the school, so you can have some choice on the order. Then you can mix in some monster hunts when you want to upgrade the bike. If you go too much into your bike escapades or star-falling you'll start getting into dangerous level territory without additional badges, which will "guide" you into another gym challenge. When your gym challenge will be in hard-to-reach place it might guide you into bike upgrades. It's... not perfect, but it kinda works. You'll usually run into some tough battles, and some battles where you'll be too powerful, but overall it's still better than Sword and Shield. The thing is you can't preview levels. While you can expect the level of the challenge based on nearby wild pokemon, final matches against rivals might end up being 20 levels above your team, which is pretty hard to overcome. I had it like that in monster hunt, since I beat the last Titan at levels 38-40, but I think it was meant to be at 50. That said, I don't think it's perfect, but it's a decision someone made. I don't think it's because of cut corners or laziness. Not all open worlds scale. For example Witcher 3 didn't, and it's one of the best open world games in existence. On the other hand Fallout 3 did scale, and it made the difficulty curve too flat, you could just do the same thing over and over, since it was always scaled to your level. Deathclaws were never a challenge, since you could punch them to death as soon as you came out of the Vault. For their first foray into open world I'd say their solution is acceptable.

_One_ disagreement: I _do_ blame the actual designers on these games for mainline Pokémon games continuing to be generations behind contemporary JRPGs in just their actual game design. That's been an issue for _years,_ it's not new - it just _continues_ to be one.

I generally am having a good time with the game but sweet Arceus is this $hit ROUGH. When I saw that the first cutscene wasn't finished, I knew I was in for a roller coaster ride. For every two steps forward Gamefreak takes, it seems fall backward tremendously in other areas. For positives you have a world that feels lived in, characters you enjoy, pretty good new Pokemon and a fine new gimmick. For negatives, you have a game that can run a consistent frame rate when Tepigs fly, awful level scaling, a boring first 2 hours and an overall feel of a rush job (which it is) I am so sick and tired of anual releases. I don't care what side projects Pokemon has to delay, they DO NOT need the money they'll gain from it. They need to take their time so we can finally have a good full experience instead of "a step forward".

What they could have done with overleveled Pokemon is work it like Ash's Charizard where if your Pokemon thinks it has a worthy opponent it will listen to you, which would be anything within 5 levels or higher of the Pokemon. So if you take a level 36 Pokemon against a level 30 or lower with not enough gym badges you get disobedience, but against a level 31 or higher it will obey. That way you couldn't use lategame stuff to cheese the early areas but could still tackle stuff in any order without the need for level scaling if you catch stuff local to the area you want to take on next.

So far with this game I'm having fun this game could have been up there with Black and white 2 but I can't deny that this game is a mess when it comes to it's polish if this game was released in spring or summer of 2023 I think there wouldn't be an issue because Pokemon games need a bigger time gap it was excusable when the games were on handheld but with the Nintendo switch there needs to be more time put into these games the blue prints and ideas are ambitious and the games could have turn out better if the developers were not rushing to meet a strict deadline

as someone who finished it already, it gets better imo, i don't like how they don't give me a guide or anything to which order the gyms are. Also apart from the npc and animation slowing down when just 5 meters away, i didn't really experience much general stutter, or if i did i didn't notice it, and i thought i would have it more because i'm playing on a switch lite. Also some really funny moments were seeing opponents with the tag "Student" looking like 70yo men in the school uniform haha Now for the technical production point: are you using some sort of audio processing? because i notice a lot of distortion when plosive are spoken. not saying it sounds bad, it just sounds a little off, i think some more processing of the voice track would do wonders to the overall quality, and without the need to buy expensive mic setups! :) hope this comment helps the algorithm and as a overall critic of the video

While I agree a lot about problems of level scaling...I do think applying disobedience mechanics to original high level Pokemon caught is a needed pseudo-level cap for progress. They're still pretty tanky so you can technically try to stall out your opponents with them, although it won't be as fun as battling with them. I think wild Pokemon not having a level curve but the trainer battles are would be a nice contrast. Either make trainers match your team based on Badges (but not only the Gyms) or maybe have a slider of what "Badge Level" the trainers can battle you for (cannot be lower than your current badge level). I do think there should be a dynamic success check for these Pokemon relative to the level of the Pokemon you're facing. Like I get the frustration with Glaceon in particular, who was just 2 or so levels higher from the Badge level. 37-35, maybe the success is cut down to 98%, or if it's level 50, then the success is cut to 85%. Not sure if it is still too high though as I know 20 levels higher Pokemon can change a 2HKO to a OHKO.
