something that makes the mela fight way, WAY easier is that if you wait for it to rain in the overworld before starting her battle, her torkoal's drought actually fails, and now you go into the battle with all her fire moves at half power

My first playthroughs of gen 9 was grass only! Love the grass types added and returning here so much but it was definitely tough and I haven’t even nuzlocked this gen successfully with the whole dex so haven’t tried mono type locks yet, but love seeing them here for some ideas lol

First of all, NO. You completely missed Toedscool before Mela and that's the key to beat her, also YOU HAD APPLIN. You had access to the Apples! Both Appletun AND Dipplin have the same Special Defense. Let's also add you had access to the EVIOLITE which would have been within the level cap at the time and your Defense would have been increased. Dragon resists Fire too! And wouldn't you know it, APPLETUN CAN LEARN RAIN DANCE and BULLDOZE. The fact you went with Leafeon BEFORE Hoppip is loony, and Scovillain is tailor-made for Brassius. The only one I can understand is Bombirdier. Without Ferroseed, and its resistance to Steel, only Tera finds can stand against that damn bird.

Hydrapple is awesome! I was disappointed in applins stats for what was a new typing (I assumed the dragon type would have put it to atleast midtier-Hightower and grass is very versatile) this thing is what I originally expected from applins evolution but it’s a shame it’s meant to be this only is post game more or less

If you didn't want to deal with friendship mechanics you could always use those herbal medicines (i.e Revival Herbs, Energy Powder, Energy Root and Heal Powder) from the Chansey Supply. I don't know if there's a badge cap that stops you but I can't imagine it's super late game if there is. You'll still get heals but it'll stop the friendship mechanics. Love the vids ❤

34:40 I found that there's a bug in the game that when the overworld weather ends, if you're mid battle, it doesn't. I found that out when I relied on the sandstorm being gone in my nuzlocke. It was hard finding it out myself when the special move didn't quite kill

As soon as you got applin from the teal mask you could have evolved it into any of the three evolutions, since you can get syrup apples from mossfell confluence and sweet and tart apples from the ground in tagtree thicket. You could have evolved applin into dipplin, swung by porto marinada to get the assault vest, and you would have gotten an absolute tank of a mon
