Ok, I’ve never actually seen some of the Hisuian shinies before, but SHINY HISUIAN ZOROARK has to be one of the best shinies I’ve ever seen. My favorite color is purple, and appreciate that they didn’t just change the red to purple, but all of the body to solid black. It looks so good. I’m shiny hunting that as soon as I get the chance!

Seeing Hisuian Typhlosion, Decidueye, and Samurott makes sense. As does the Galar starters. But the fact that the Kalos starters are here seems odd. So does the fact that there’s plenty of legendaries returning and not many mythicals. Yet all of the mythicals from Kalos are retuning. Carbink is also unusually the only Pokémon returning that isn’t a regional form, previous gen starter, PLA Pokémon, or previous legendary. All of this points to a Kalos connection to Paldea. Especially given that Spain and France border each other in the real world. It only makes sense after the abundance of Kalos Pokémon that returned in Scarlet and Violet. We already know these games are getting DLC. Maybe Paldea is where those mysterious trains in Kalos led to.

Kind of weird how promotional images on the early version of the SV website showed pictures of a trainer with a Hisuian Zoroark but it’s not currently obtainable in game. I (and many others) were expecting it to be available from the start and it was how Zoroark appeared in Paldea as well as Hisui, only for it to require Home. Perhaps those images were foreshadowing the Home compatibility? Or they might have been early screenshots and they initially planned on them being available, but changed their mind later. Or they’ll be part of the DLC? Who knows!

The next step they might take in reusing old starters in the future by having their normal base starter (ie Treeko, Chimchar, Totodile) but have the second evo be a regional form and that said regional form (ie ____ form Grovyle, Monferno, Croconaw) but instead of just one third evo they'll hve two One Regional form and a completely new alternative 3rd evo.
