I always found it weird that Niheligo and Lillie have no direct connection stated in the game, despite the fact that the game's marketing pointed how similar the two looked. Then you have to remember that Lusamine picked Lillie's outfit for her, and Lusamine has had a fixation for Niheligo for a lonnnnnng time. Niheligo is not an alternate version of Lillie, it's what Lusamine wanted Lillie to be, which is actually kind of disturbing.

KM Chan ORAS happened first along with Kanto in both universes, therefore meaning that if Looker is from an alternate world then he would've come at the very beginning. It would make sense, considering Anabel also comes from Hoenn in the original. Thing is, in the post-game, Anabel claims she has lost her memory. Who claimed to have lost their memory in ORAS? Looker. I see it as Looker arrives, then Anabel arrives but not while we are there, and both end up travelling together. Maybe S/M happens before XY, so Anabel stays in Alola while Looker goes off to Kalos for the Looker side quest.

Cheddar Sun & Moon were just the best. The story wasn't focused around you mainly but around Lillie. All the characters were of great quality. The rival(s) kicked ass. The evil team was powerful yet they didn't try to conquer the region. Old characters were brought back that fans loved. Getting Legendaries & Ultra Beasts is easy & battles have become worth fighting.

Back in 2017, I didn’t really appreciate the Ultra Beasts or their theme very much. But after listening to it hundreds of times (figuratively), and trying out each beast at a time... I actually think they’re really good. Each Ultra Beast has their own trait unique to them, and the theme; not only says a lot about how dangerous they can be, but also how mysterious and how powerful they can potentially become if they aren’t captured. So overall, I really like this.

Dude, I love Ultra Beasts and their design. I get why many people don't like it - they look weird, not even like Pokémon. That's precisely why I love them! They're barely even "Pokémon" - normal Poké Balls (and its variations) can't even detect these things as Pokémon. You need the special Beast Balls developed by the Aether Foundation to catch them. Seeing such strange beings going against Pokémon is what makes them so cool - the clash of the known vs. the unknown.

except all of the UBs are based on similar normal things nihilego is a jellyfish and uses their toxins in a more horror-themed way. buzzwole is a mosquito that utilizes them sucking blood for its design gimmick. pheromosa being a roach... i can't explain. there's probably something that roaches do with pheromones that i don't know. but it's also based on a molted roach, given its white palette. xurkitree is a bundle of wires shaped like a christmas tree when it plants itself. similar to various objectmons celesteela is based on the princess from the tale of the bamboo cutter, and its rocket theming is based on how the princess from that tale came from the moon. kartana, simply put, is a paper sword. guzzlord is based on eldritch horrors and black holes. probably the least standard inspiration here, since monster designs in pokemon most typically come from real world mythology, and not fiction such as H.P. lovecraft. all of the original UBs are also themed after the seven deadly sins poipole is based on a typical alien depiction while its evolution is based on a wasp, dragon, and naga stakataka seems like a nurikabe as well as various colonial organisms that form one larger organism blacephalon's a jester with fireworks. they're strange designs, sure, but their origins aren't any different from typical pokemon.

The Ultra Beasts are inspired by Satoshi Tajiri's (and many other Japanese creators) childhood interest in the Ultraman series. it was a special effects tv show created by Eiji Tsuburaya, the man who pioneered man-in-suit effects for films like Godzilla and Rodan, and was about a hero alien sharing his life force with a human to defend earth from invading space monsters. (Ultra Beasts being a reference to Ultraman and Ultra Kaiju.) Tajiri came up with the idea for pokemon after thinking about how to modernize his childhood interests: bug collecting, gashapon toys and Ultraman.
