Can I beat a Pokemon Hardcore Nuzlocke challenge in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon using only Starters?
Nuzlocke rules:
- Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
- Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught (dupes clause)
- All pokemon must be nicknamed
Hardcore Rules:
- Always Set mode
- No items from the bag option in battle (held items are ok)
- No overleveling the next gym leader

So i think i just figured out why litten's line makes sense. In Japanese wrestling terms, the beginners are referred to as "young lions." No idea how that works in with Torracat but then you obviously have the Pokemon classified as a heel by its dex entry, and a heel is essentially a bad-guy within sports entertainment.

I’ve grown to love the Alola starter lines in general 💚❤ 💙 (Dartrix being my least favorite, but not abysmal). I remember the cults that were for and against Popplio when it was revealed (not hyperbole, look it up). Yes, it’s designed like a freaking clown, but it’s really an inoffensive clown with a cute nose built like a seal who balances bubbles on it, and the whole trio references circus acts, so what?

I totally agree with how you feel about Litten, although as the years have gone on, I like Incineroar a little more. Litten was my pick when Sun and Moon came out, and I named my starter after my cat Shrimpy. My cat passed in 2019, but the Incineroar named after him lives on in Pokémon Scarlet :)

When this game arrived, it was clear to me that it was a big FU to Nuzlockers, and that Fissure at the Elite Four was just another proof. xD Despite my favorite gen being 5, I have to agree that the Hoenn starters are the best. And yeah, I also agree with Alolan Raichu’s Levitate. Greninja's overrated, there, I said it. And I've noticed the absence of Grovyle, especially when you foreshadowed his image fighting against Marowak before catching it. xD I'm glad Bulbasaur had his journey with you (yeah, I was a Bulbasaur kid in grad school; things weren’t easy for me 😅). But a tear fell from my cheek when I saw he wasn’t in the final battles. I'm not here to judge; your selected team was definitely on point. Quasimodo served well as a freaking immovable wall to damage the opponent. xD

I like the kalos trio more. Greninja being water dark gives it acces to cool moves and of course ash greninja. fennekin is cute and delphox being fire psychic is really cool. It also hits really hard. Chesnaught is just bulky and hits hard. And the XY(Z) Pokemon animé gave them a real boost too. They destroy everything there
