Every Pokemon game seems to have been developed at most two years before their release. This leads to crazy revelations like the original BW being in development since shortly after the release of Pokémon Platinum.

If I remember correctly, third/extra versions didn't have the whole team working on them, only a part since it's mostly content and they don't have to remake everything from the ground up

Love how the hair actually had movement this would have been amazing if it wasn’t for the zigzag movement I wish they could have made the skates optional so you didn’t have to use the D pad to walk regularly

It's just a test model. It seems to be pretty typical of Pokemon games to use assets from the prior games as tests and early placeholders

@@Sonictheoofhog4 It’s original, most likely. It’s much too high poly for the DS and was probably just a modeling test, since this was one of their first 3D games. It also looks like the X/Y character designs exist at this point, so it must have been created really early on.

Because the 3DS isn't powerful enough to render all this. It's just a console with 480P screen. So they had to. It's a test pc build for developers as far as I know

​@@TECHBOOKTechnicalThe prototypes actually run on 3DS, this isn't a PC build of any kind, it's just running through Citra They mostly tonned down things because it probably wouldn't be the same with all the variety of moves and 721 Pokémon they would end up having The camera movements aren't that CPU heavy tho, they seem to be an aesthetic decision more than nothing

It's because this is ran on emulator with higher internal resolution. The default setting is 3x resolution. The graphics of the beta builds are essentially the same as the final game, if not a little worse. There was no downgrade.

Yes, i think they used her as a placeholder, since Serena and Calem went through some Design Changes, at some point Serena even had Brown Hair, though Calems design was always pretty close to his final design.

I'm not asking for the build, I have that. But how did you load into the overworld? In my playthrough (on my channel) I couldn't load into it at all without crashes on citra. What version did you use, and cheat codes if any?
