Poke Cup: Master Ball (Round 2, Rentals Only) - Pokemon Stadium 2

Welcome to my walkthrough series of Pokemon Stadium 2! In this playthrough, I will cover the gameplay of all the Pokemon Stadium 2 Cups (including Pokemon Stadium 2 R2): Johto Gym Leader Castle, Kanto Gym Leader Castle, Poke Cup, Prime Cup, Challenge Cup, Little Cup, and the final showdown against The Rival: the final boss of this game! Poké Cup (Japanese: ニンテンドウカップ Nintendo Cup) is one of the four Stadium Cups, appearing in both Pokémon Stadium and Pokémon Stadium 2.
It is presented as being the officially-sponsored Pokémon League tournament, though unlike what would be thought, not all Pokémon are allowed for use. More specifically, Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh and Celebi are all disallowed.
The Cup has a level restriction on it as well, only allowing Pokémon between the levels of 50 and 55 to compete. In addition, the three-Pokémon team chosen by the player at the beginning of a battle may not have a total level sum above 155. This means as well that the six-Pokémon team chosen to compete can't have more than four Pokémon of level 55.
There are four levels that may be challenged; each level up must be unlocked by defeating the eight Trainers on the previous level.

This imo is the toughest mode in the game with rentals only. Even more than R2 Prime Cup.

In Round 1, Pokemaniac Pedro is an Echo Fighter of Champion Lance. In Round 2, he uses Pokémon representing each of the Kanto Elite Four. In fact, most of his team is an Elite Four Pokemon used in Round 2 of Pokemon Stadium. He has a Starmie for Lorelei, Machamp for Bruno, Gengar for Agatha, and an Electabuzz plus Snorlax for Lance. In fact, he is the first trainer to represent a regional Elite Four. Just like Lance, he keeps his Dragonite because it is his signature Pokemon.

-Don’t you love it when you get critical hits when their hp is down to low percent? -I enjoy the fire breathers naming of his Pokémon. Also, he had his Charizard use belly drum against a water type. Real smart -Why does the PokeManiac name his Dragonite Moltmania? Doesn’t that go with Moltres instead? Also, unfortunate luck getting frozen. -Congrats on clearing the Poke Cup!

This cup supposedly has fixed rng to make beating it with rentals almost impossible. So this is actually a huge achievement

This is actually not true, the RNG is fair...the stats of your opponents and the team compositions/items are what is unfair.

I literally took to the internet after 5 one shotts from that godless scizor. He has to have a quick claw. Paralyzed he outsped my whole team and one shotted them. The game really does cheat/hack whatever you want to call it.

God most rentals in stadium have awful movepools and stats at least you manage to make it work lol I wonder how you would have handle the Final Guy if he chosen Snorlax instead..

@@bryanc1772 I know, it was sarcasm. there are plenty of way to easily get rid of Snorlax, even by using rentals. I'd go with the classic Destiny Bond. easy and quick to set up because Snorlax is slow

This is spliced (only the wins being shown), but it is still a good achievement. With the wrong team, you could try 100 times and still not beat this.

No. For extra challenge purposes and also because those are rental pokemons.

I don't like Belly Drum. I don't think it's worth sacrificing half of your HP to maximize your Attack.

With the right setup, using Belly Drum can be a pretty broken and OP strategy. For that reason, if I remember correctly, Belly Drum is banned on a couple of competitive environments on Gen 2 (Smogon-wise)

It depends if you can setup correctly it can be OP although the Snorlax he faces in the final knows snore too and belly drum Since few of the rentals can break thru Snorlax it an awesome stradegy in this case
