Anyone else noticed a decide lack of tier 5 rewards this season? I've run over 800 matches (at the usual 51% win rate...) and have hit many 3 win sets. ZERO legendary rewards. We work too hard to catch good IV's burn all the dust and TM's and learn to play GBL well to get the crap rewards Niandick offers up to us. Almost as bad as egg hatching. Almost.

Yeah I felt the same as what you said about the hakamo-o team but with master league. I used hisuian avalugg and got good or neutral leads for a while and then got kyogre or metagross 5 times in a row and when I change the lead to dragonite then its fairy types in the front every time.

People don't realize how many bots you go up against. They use player names so as to not make it too obvious. The lack of in game communication and the fact that players don't really try and find a way of talking to one another, just makes it easier for them to get away with. I'm really surprised more people don't realize this. So many huge games do the bot BS. Niantic is no different.

I am the same mindset as you, if everyone is being kept at 50% then there is definitely an algorithm out there. I just get to ace and don't bother...not worth my time. I don't like the fact of being forced into a win or given a win....that's not skill that's a 7th place trophy.

? You still can see it in numbers. It’s just a ranking system. If you climb 100-200 ELO you face better player, different teams (cause good teams climb, bad teams not) etc. There is no 51% winrate bs. Sure if you do max fights you climb till you drop… and this is 50% winrate … nothin mystical. But if you a player who easy reach Expert, just skip the first rotation and only play till you reach expert, your winrate will be 60%+ like I said, nothin mystical, no algorithm just a rankingsystem.

A bit of a nit pick but I think this might help: when you have a charja into a neutral match up, it's always better to go for x scissor which does the same amount of damage as discharge, but costs 5 energy less which can make or break certain match ups! Make sure to always go for the x scissor against the charja-vigo match ups and I hope this helps!

Honestly i hate to be negative but GBL is a major disappointment. For years I have been trying to force it to be good and it does have its fun moments but ultimately it’s like so bad for my mental health. So much time and effort goes into finding and building a team only for Niantic to put zero thought into creating these cups. So unbalanced! I really really just want it to be fun, but it’s more fun to watch videos than to battle the same try hard team over and over and over again. I think the worst part is battlers so desperate to win they’ll use any toxic strategy. If you’re bringing Chansey to gbl, you should take a look at your life.

I FINALLY reached 2400 elo, for the first time ever and every set after, was literally counter after counter. It definitely does NOT feel “random” it seems VERY intentional. Like I went 5-0, 4-1 , 4-1 , 5-0. Then went 0-5 , 1-4, 1,4, 0-5 , 2-3. I switched teams and got countered instantly. I stopped playing.

I am stuck at 50.4-51% lifetime and each season. I will go 3-5 for like 3 straight sets then will lose 8-10 to even out at right around 50%….. it’s so obvious it’s hilarious. I can literally team guess correctly 90% of the time because I know what is in my lead is either good or bad to theirs based on the lead out…

I wanted the pvp to be more like it is in the show/manga. I hate when games end up doing the META bs. only stomping because youre using predetermined pokemon rather than using pokemon that youve built up, have a good relationship with, etc. Its lame. It takes away all the potential and fun out of the game. You're telling me the meta will stomp legendary pokemon... Just because? It makes 0 sense. It isn't fun. We all have to do the same thing and hope we get matches against people that dont know what they're doing... Wheres the win in that? There's nothing to celebrate when your only wins are coming from people who arent using the meta. It's niantic being lazy. We could have epic battles where an unsuspecting typically weak pokemon stomp a pokemon that is usually an absolute monster to deal with. But nah. Meta or lose. It's really quite frustrating.

Started a new account and grinded for months getting good iv and top meta mons for great league. I know how it can be so I wanted to go in with my best team. Got completely walled by good iv top meta mons after going 10-0 AT RANK 2!!! Lost my next two sets 2-3 and 1-4. Game is rigged from top to bottom and it’s why I wanted to do what I did with that account. Proved to me without a doubt it’s rigged. Killed my motivation to play. All the grinding means absolutely nothing.

Togekiss, more like togeshits) - Miss my move: (When I was on 1 hp and I previously tapped the move but loe cmp, nvm, and that move bring me to 1 hp so I was like, lets fire off the focus blast on the dialga, then regardless I pressed it, even though with good connection, I just lost it. I was at 2916. After one week Ultra L. I went down to 2770. Then on battleday i lost near 470 Points. So many bad leads....hard counter switches etc. Many 1:4 and 0:5. So many games i top lefted...Sad. So close to legend and then one day. Everything is gone.

The moment I reached Veteran all my matches had bad leads and heavily countered safe swaps. Double weak or even triple. It’s crazy to even move on. Tried switching teams and it actually gets worse. 🤦🏻‍♂️ I wish the rewards like skin and pose are much more attainable for serious players like me. And just leave the global ranking to pros and legendary.

If you don’t use a real solid team which have mostly close or equal fights(over Top50 Pokemon) you have to change your team by climbing. It’s logical, good teams climb, bad teams not. So if you climb the meta change… from bad/fun teams to try hard teams + your opponents will be better players in average. This is the reason why you can much easier reach legend in the last weeks of a season as in the middle (cause you not only face try harder) Sure you can complain… but if you understand the Rank system it’s much easier to climb up to expert/legend. I mostly skip the first 20-30days of a season (only top left till R11) 2nd rotation/battle week event I ll start… you fly up to ACE… I mostly have a First ELO 2200-2300. Play till you reach the point where you can’t climb and take a break… a few weeks later it will be easier. This season I reached expert with 270/280 wins by 60%+ winrate (and 50 fights I top left(from R1-20), so finally I only really lost 130-140 fights out of 500. It only tooked 100 fights more to reach legend (cause I waited)

Most of the comments ts here show people unable to put together an above average tram and stick with the format. I run lanturn, carbink, and trev. It's dependable. I don't change it when I lose a set. After 25 battles I win a little over half. When that team doesn't do that anymore I can build another that does. Stick with the team.

Wins lead: I read the meta and made a very informed team based around what is common! Loses lead: There's a conspiracy against me, personally. Al gore's rhythm is too strong. Seriously it takes half a braincell to disprove "the algorithm." The game can't intentionally give people bad leads without giving others good leads. You'd have to believe Niantec has it out for you personally.

The Algorithm is not real. Metas shift every few hundred ELO points which is why you "suddenly" start seeing a lot of the same Pokemon, because those teams tended to better against the teams in the ELO your particular Pokemon choices kept you in before. Algorithms deliver predictable sets of outcomes. If just 1 battle doesn't match the supposed algorithm's sequence then how could there be an algorithm? Numbers, odds, and matchups play very convincing tricks on your brain. As someone who has been shiny hunting and breeding for IVs since 2004 trust me, random numbers often appear predetermined

It's much more likely that dropping down in ELO or increasing in ELO is the explanation for why you suddenly find different leads, not the other way around. It's like looking at basic cause and effect and assuming that the effect is programmed to elicit the cause. No, you're going to find teams with top level leads at higher ELOs and worse leads at lower ELOs. That's not an algorithm, that's natural survival of the fittest manifested in rankings

It is meant to increase player engagement. The reason there are better Pokemon at higher ranks is because the people that have them are dedicated to the game, not because they are good. The algorithm makes it take much longer for people to rank up and people with crap Pokémon don’t have the dedication to rank up hence why their Pokemon suck in the first place. Master league is the only format where quality of Pokemon has a Significant impact. In other leagues it doesn’t matter nearly as much.

Competitive Pokemon go is a joke and a disgrace to the main series game because of that. I suggest you look up what EOMM is if you have never heard of it before, because that is what the algorithm is. It keeps you at a slightly winning win rate (51-55) so that it is still possible to rank up, but it takes a very long time. This increases the amount that you play go battle league by a huge amount if you care about your rank. So no I did not make a contradictory statement.
