Now this is a great idea. Getting to choose which starter set you play the game with would be awesome. However I believe it creates too much of a variable for how the game would be interpreted per player and he would probably want more consistency hence his main starters.

You could have 2 starter areas on opposite sides of whatever the region is. Have a second area that counts as part of the region that's separate and maybe a quarter to half the size of the main portion. Perhaps a starter area on the continent and a 2nd starter option for an island that is considered part of the region that's not connected that is both a home option or actually right between the games region and another separate region that can be for a 2nd game or just exist. So a relay point and the main can come from another region deciding to start in your game region instead. Guess it would be part of the character selection to also choose one of the starter locations. Can of course use all 3 options of one for the main, one for a separate section, and one for an island if you did somehow get three sets of starters. The island one could even be the/a set from the completely separate region on the other side of the island.

That third pokémon idea is kind of ingenious when it comes to this story, it doesn't help prevent pollution by cleaning up the planet, it quite literally makes it a life or death situation directly for the people in that time.😂 So if they don't keep things dawn this creature will quite literally make pollution their problem and not two or three generations after them😂😂 I wish we had something like that nowadays LOL

I'm going down memory lane and picking my favorite custom Pokemon from each episode to give a hidden ability to and/or sig move for fun (if it already doesn't have one). Nimwhisk & Overghast 2nd Signature move: Soul Storm = Ghost-type Hurricane. Never misses in rain and also has a 30% chance to flinch target hidden ability: Polluted Percipitation = while the pokemon is in the rain, its poison type damage moves deal 50% more damage and all poison-type damage moves also deal water-type damage
