Paldean Empire was actually in SV in Raifort's classes. She explained the whole story about it, and later she gives you the Quest for catching Treasures of Ruin and revealing their background as well.

The treasures of ruin being born due to the corrupt king that lived that time and they nearly destroyed it so the King called pokemon wielders to seal them. Imagine if Lucius was one of them.

This episode is setting up so much later on. Firstly, the whole expedition in Area Zero with Geeta for Terapagos (also I'm still confident, that Entei isn't actually an Entei, but a Gouging Fire) Then the certain "incident", clearly meaning whole Koraidon/Miraidon rampage and Sada/Turo. Then the whole Paldean Empire thing with Raifort, which hopefully will lead to debut of Treasures of Ruin. And finally the mystery of Rakua. For me it's either Paldea, or some sort of kingdom, that existed earlier. And we still have the second half of Terastal Course and 3 remaining Heroes.

You know, that's actually the best part of this series. When it comes to reveals about the mystery, they do so, but by deepening it further. They have set a whole bunch of interesting characters and none of them feel underused, and I feel there are many more incoming, like Amethio's father and characters from Lucius's Era. Yeah, the 'second Pokémon being underused" issue is there, but I think they are covering it up by this Implementation test.

Rakua may hint at a different location. As Lockstin Gnoggin theorized, there might be two Terapagos. The one in Area Zero, as in the game, is oddly Male. Perhaps Liko's the female counterpart.

I do find it funny though that when it came to Gimmighoul & Roy, it just turned out (in which Friede & Raifort support-elaborate on) that Gimmighoul ended up using its ghost powers into manipulating Roy into collecting more coins for it & then it just up and left; it swindled him & it's out of there!!!!!

I wanted Roy to catch Gimmighoul, he will probably be battling Ryme and a ghost battle would be fun, plus Gholdengo as Roy's pokemon fits so well. The fact they gave the coins and gimmighoul didn't evolve means we may see it again....like Ash's Sandile/Krokorok. It showed up several times before being captured.

Man this episode was exciting! I have been LOVING the amount of Scarlet/Violet based stuff lately. Especially curious about what Geeta said regarding Area Zero- I wonder what this ‘accident’ was? In the games people just aren’t allowed in the Great Crater because it’s dangerous. I wonder if this accident is related to certain events from the games, or just an anime exclusive thing? Would be insane if the ‘accident’ was actually the entire ending of base sv with the AI, the discovery of the professor’s death and all that, since Penny already working for the league implies this is after the main story (or just ignoring it entirely but shhh). That, or imagine the accident was actually the whole situation *before* the events of the game, with Arven going down there looking for his mum, and his Mabosstiff almost dying in the process. Could give a reason to introduce him to Horizons! More importantly though, have you been feeling any better since last week?

​@@Pokeferlax She gives us extra lore regarding the treasures of ruin, is stated to be a relic thief (and regularly gets hexed for it), and gets a lot of unsettling dialogue ranging from "keeping the player in her custody for a few days" so she could interrogate them about Area Zero to sacrificing Jacq. Unfortunately, she never really gets more than just being ominous. As an aside to the Ruinous Quartet, it would be neat to see her interact with the Explorers, since they were pursuing treasure and mystery too with Terapagos and Rakua. I feel this would be right in their wheelhouse.

The idea of the paldea empire was a thing, as Raifort stated with the treasures of ruin being born due to the corrupt king that lived that time and they nearly destroyed it so the King called pokemon wielders to seal them. Imagine if Lucius was one of them. Raifort was a treasure hunter and adventurer in the past after all even raided tombs, as Ryme said she was cursed by a vengeful spirit in BB Academy in their interaction.

I really understood the premis of this episode a lot more with the subtitles, and the ep is really good! Nice fun History lesson with Raifort (Really good Charecter, and her Zoroark was so funny) lots of lore regarding Paldea's history, Area Zero and more info on Rakua too! All of this more then makes up for Liko & Roy not catching Charcadet and Gimmighoul. I give it an 8/10! THIS is how you embrace the history of the new region in the anime!

So about the paldean empire. Its the one from wich the treasure of ruin are born from. They also are the first that tried to explore area zero but every team they sented died. The kings of each generation that came tried to send teams because they believed that the treasure would have been a weapon that could have aloud them to win a war against other regions(wich i guess was right considering how strong is terapagos). The whole finding a treasure tradition is born from this.

This is similar in my school vr game in the form of Goalius origins identified (he is a Triadian Ultra Beast hybrid that was the link between the Triadians and the Ultra Beasts but a yearly purge causes a few amount of Ultra Beasts and Triadian to get killed which as a way to keep him secret the Ultra Beast mother, Queen Nova used her ability to peak into a different dimension and got the idea of creating a Shell form for the young Goalius and during it managed the disable the Yearly purge but at the cost of the Triadian father, King Magnus which as a way to escape was sent to earth and was meet by the Demon King Sparda)

(I made a mistake so don’t take this comment seriously. Lucius didn’t rule rakua) I think Lucius used to rule Rakua with terapagos and the six heroes. He was so powerful that I wouldn’t be surprised if Rakua was another Pokémon region or maybe the 10th gen of Pokémon will be based in Rakua. Know one knows. There is so much going on and I’m very excited for it.

We don't know much about it. But that's for sure that Lucius didn't rule Laqua. He was an adventurer who sought the fabled Paradise. And I don't think Laqua will become the gen 10 region, like if it is literal pink, I don't think anyone will like to play the entire game, solely in one colour, it won't be that visually appealing, not for me. As for much going on, I am excited. This story has made me crazy about it. The writers there are so creative. I don't think we've ever got such a brilliant story before..

Paldea Empire and its history seem more richer and mysterious and epic than Kalos and Galar thus far. Paldea arc is getting more and more interesting and fun after that.
